Rapper/Producer Lil' Jon released a statement today, which will clarify months of speculation about the status of his protege, Lil' Scrappy. Jon announced that his BME Recordings is currently negotiating a deal with 50 Cent's G-Unit Records.

"We entered a mutually beneficial agreement based on each company's creative strengths," Lil' Jon told AtlantaUrbanMix.com. "On a artist by artist basis, BME will help solidify G-Units artist in the South, where BME has a stronghold. I'll also do production for them, and G-Unit is gonna help market some artists signed to BME; the first being Lil Scrappy." Though full details about the deal were not available at press time, both labels did confirm that the arrangements are in final negotiation stages.

The statement officially ends months of speculation about whether or not Scrappy will be leaving BME to become a G-Unit Soldier. While the "Prince of Crunk" denied such rumors in an interview with Ozone Magazine last month, 50 Cent reportedly made it official during a recent interview on BBC's Radio 1 Rap Show in London. During the October 15 interview, 50 told host Tim Westwood that Lil' Scrappy was "coming over to G-Unit." Reps for G-Unit Records declined requests for a comment.

Founded in 2002 by Lil' Jon and childhood friends Vince Phillips, Emperor Searcy, and Rob Mac, BME is preparing new releases from Trillville, Lil' Scrappy, Bohagon and E-40.

That agreement don't look like it's gon be doing much for forty.. All I see is Lil Scrappy is gettin some G-unit marketing, and G-unit is gettin some lil jon production... The parameters of the deal aren't known.. but I'm guessing it aint got nothin to do with forty

In the last 20 seconds? You know people always say shit like that about stars they don't like. Didn't some Republican woman say something about shooting Britney Spears last year? And you say that's the most ignorant shit you've heard? Shut the fuck up.

Plus you said E-40 ain't Lil' Jon's biggest artist... Who is?

What? Are you serious? This shit has absolutely nothin to do wit the Bay!

"and G-Unit is gonna help market some artists signed to BME" This will benefit lil scrappy and thats it. Even if it did help 40 (which i doubt) thats still not the Bay flooding the industry.

And 50 cent doesn't have the marketing game on smash anymore. That cat is on his way to falling off. You better Check the sounscan cuzzo. Yayo shit flopped, Olivia couldn't create a buzz, and 50's sales are practically non existent now.

Seems like Jon trying to get his distribution for his artists straight. I know he does not want any part of TVT, so he needs to get some solid distro in order. Really it could just delay the release for 40. You know for a fact G-unit Records will distribute Scrappy first and foremost. My opinion is Jon's relationship with his label may change the whole plan he had in the first place. Guess we will all see how it unfolds
