This fascinating, brilliant 20-minute video narrates the history of the "Amen Break," a six-second drum sample from the b-side of a chart-topping single from 1969. This sample was used extensively in early hiphop and sample-based music, and became the basis for drum-and-bass and jungle music -- a six-second clip that spawned several entire subcultures. Nate Harrison's 2004 video is a meditation on the ownership of culture, the nature of art and creativity, and the history of a remarkable music clip.

How is this Tech related you ask?

Check out the movie at about 5:55 when they start talking about the break's influence on drum n bass...

...did Icy Roc chop up this break for It's Alive? Anyone know?

Tou mean to tell me you can learn something from the internet?

Will wonders never cease?

That does sound like Its alive and some other Tech tracks. But that also shows how Tech and his producers were influenced by early b boy songs and how they were influenced by euro beats and earlier music. This also show that music is connected and is a living breathing thing

Dope find!!
