People in the rest of the world are just starting to hear about hyphy. I can tell you that once exposed they are hungry for more. Mobb music is great music but its too provincial to appeal to a mass audience.
So maybe artists should make mobb music for the bay and hyphy for the world?
Ouch... slow down there playa... Mobb music is what 40 and Spice 1 turned into big deals in the first place. Mobb music is what got fans in the mid west and Down South and North West and put the Bay out there. Even overseas.
Hyphy is dope and all but it's way too young a style to make a comment bout what it's going to do and what the Bay should do. Until then people should be making music like they always have done, not chasing trends.
By the way, back on point, that Reek Daddy album slap something stupid, Mr Freak Da Babbi always been the natural heir to Dre for me, dude got that cold ass flow about him. And that Too Much track w/ Dre... straight knock.
I been waitin on this since Wreak Havoc like 4 years ago, Reek is raw, got the most Thizzed-out style of the lot. Most people don't get it with the tinny old school beats and nothin' commercial sounding, but it's neck-snappingly fonky.
