^^^^yea i know a lot of folks that do that but I heard plenty of stories how people go to vegas and just go for the 100 or 500 dollar buy-in tournaments and if they win first, they walk out 2 million dollars richer.

those stories are true becuase thats how the tournment is set up, the winner gets a million or whatever. you know that before signing up. but the odds of beating out 100's of other people at other tables as well as yours is slim. yeah it could happen and you can win but you might also lose every time you play.

bottom line is its all about luck.

Bottom Line its about luck. You cant be serious! Yeah there is luck involved but Poker involves skills and patience etc

Usually I play house games usually 20 dollar buy in with about 20 heads. If I go to the Casino I play 2-4 or 3-6 Limit or a 50 dollar buy in Tourney

so your telling me there is skill in knowing what your opponents have in their hands? if you can tell what your opponent is holding, what cards are giong to turn up, etc. then you sir should be a billionaire with that knowledge. i know there is some skill but bottom line comes down to luck. you need to luck to hit your cards, luck for them to not hit their cards, luck they dont raise you, luck that they call you when you raise, and luck for a lot of other things in hold em.

you can have the best skill in the world but if you dont luck out and get a good hand then it dont mean shit. cus all it takes is one person to call you and you lose, or you can get LUCKY and they got a worse hand then you.

Yes you can figure out what someone his holding by their betting patterns. There is skill on reading body language. Skill in trapping somone etc .... Luck does have some play in it but I gotta say luck isnt the main factor.

YES U CAN TELL WUT THEY HOLDING. MY PATNA CALLS FOLKS CARDS ALL DAY. WATCH THEY BETTING PATTERNS AND HOW THEY PLAYED THOSE SIMILAR CARDS BEFORE. U DONT KNOW WUTS COMIN OUT ON THE FLOP BUT ITS NOT ALL LUCK. HAVENT U NOTICED THAT IN THE TOURNAMENTS ON TV, ITS ALWAYS THE SAME PEOPLE AT THE FINAL TABLE. SKILL IS INVOLVED MAYNE
