To be fair, Austin Texas, isn't really like the rest of the state -- it's the one liberal part of Texas with the university and the capital there. Lots of hippies. Think "dazed and confused" instead of George Dubya. And it has one of the lowest percentages of people of color than any other texas city. So its actually surprising that something like this would happen there, as opposed to anywhere else in texas. When I was there it seemed like Austin has some of the most laid-back people (of any race) of anywhere I've ever been.
