Why is he using the token rapper movie plot of "drug lord being fucked by the feds/other drug lords"? Wouldn't you want to raise the bar as far as rapper movies?
Do something that people are going to remember. If tech wanted to do an independent film it would probablly be a lot like dawn of the dead meets house of 1000 corpses....not titanic.
OF COURSE HE GON HAVE XTRA SHIT ON THE DVD. BUT EVERYBODY PUT OUT DVD'S WITH SHOWS AND NIGGAZ GETTIN HIGH TALKIN SHIT BOUT HOW PAID THEY ARE FLAUGIN FOR THE CAMERA. THAT SHIT HAS BEEN DONE OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. BUT I UNDERSTAND THAT PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM HAVE NEVER EVEN BEEN OUTSIDE OF THEIR LIL CITY AND HAVE PROBABLY NEVER BEEN ON A REAL MOVIE SET TO SEE ALL OF WHAT IT TAKES. COURT TOLD ME HE WANTED TO BE THE FIRST PERSON FROM KANSAS CITY TO PRODUCE HIS OWN MOVIE, THATS WRITING, FINANCING, DIRECTING, PRODUCING. I'D CALL THAT TRAILBLAZING. TECH HAS MADE SOME POSITIVE STRIDES FORWARD, BUT UNTIL HE HIT IT BIG, HE JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE TRYIN TO GET THERE. BUT WHAY CANT NIGGAZ ON HERE JUST SAY "DAM, HE DOIN A MOVIE? I HOPE ITS GOOD... INSTEAD OF TRYIN TO BESMIRTCHIFY IT LIKE HE DOIN A LIL LOCAL CD. LIKE I SAID ON THE OTHER POST, IF TECH WAS DOIN IT YALL BE SAYIN ITS THE NEXT TITANIC. BUT PEOPLE THOUGHT CUBE WAS CRAZY TOO. ALSO WHO CARES ABOUT A DAY IN THE LIFE OF ANY RAPPER? I think it's admirable that he did a movie....put his time and money into writting and producing a film...but why do another "drug lord" movie? Is that what people want to see? I'm just saying it better have one fucking hell of a story to it....otherwise it's gonna get lost in the mix. I'm not trying to knock you down......honest. Just real skeptical.
NOW YOU MAY HAVE A POINT WITH THAT STATEMENT...I DONT KNOW THE FULL EXTENT OF THE SCRIPT, BUT LAST I TALKED TO HIM I SAID THE SAME THING AND HE SAID SINCE HIS ALBUM WAS GANGSTA AND THE MOVIE IS COMING WITH THE ALBUM, THE MOVIE HAD TO BE GANGSTA TOO..WHICH MADE SINCE. BUT SAID IT IS NOT A TRADITIONAL HOOD FLICK, HE COMPARED IT MORE TO SUGAR HILL WITH WESLEY SNIPES. KINDA MORE PLOT AND DRAMA TYPA THING. I DONT EVEN THINK THERE FILMING TOO MUCH IN THE HOOD.
one thing.... and this has nothing to do with any particular rapper mentioned in this thread... i probably dont even know half of their music/career.
but, what does being in a movie have to do with music?
i dont say this about many things but i see a rapper starring in a movie as a definate loss of some of my respect. (not that they'd give a fuck up about me respectin them or not..) unless it's like the rapper comes out and says it was strictly for the money and don't pretend to be a fuckin actor. although there are some rappers who CAN act and make a conscious effort in actually becoming an actor... all the best to them... but there are so many fuckin bullshit deals for some talentles fuckin ractors in movies that it's becoming a bad fuckin cliche... like "i'll first sell a million fuckin records, buy a cool car and then make a movie" gimme a fuckin break... get in the studio motherfucker! oh what? that's right i forgot, you can't , your ghosts havent given you the lyrics yet and your company hasnt figured out what kinda slang you should use in your new hit that would sell this year...
if tech blows up, i hope he doesnt take any offers from movie makers that he wouldnt want in normal circumstances... now, if he gets a part in some Blade type vampire movie ( i think he said something about that in an interview a long time ago or something,) then that'd be pretty cool

Word it did sound like "The Last Don" LMAO Nigga's these day's can't be creative anymore man they lost that part of hip-hop (not just traditional hip-hop) nigga's wanna but other nigga's ideas like Master P. don't get me wrong I was a die hard No Limit fan back in the day but this quote "We All We Got" Nelly started that shit and all these video's there all coming from movies. SOWLSTAR, you aint neva lying on that one. Everyone thinks that they can bring something "new" to the game bacause they were hyped up by they homie that was big and got him on. It ridiculous. They all follow that "FAKE ASS SCARFACE, OR DRUGLORD" theme and FLOP!!! I am sick of it, and its gotten to the point that if a rapper comes out with a movie I refuse to see it especially if its an East Coast rapper, cause they are all the same. Niggas albums are ridiculous these days, niggas have only 2 good songs on em', they got million dollar deals, they do concerts and are fucking horrible. Tech on the other hand, aint got that, puts on a show like no other, has wayyyy more songs that you feel and actually listen to on one CD than the last 5 and next 5 rappers that release a CD in this industry and aint getting what he deserves. Its to the point that Tech should get what he wants. Done deal...
