Okay kids...

Some of you in the town may have seen leaked flyers of this occurance that is in the works for 3rd week of August. But as far as it being true, its still in the works. Rich, his bro along with myself are putting this together and trying to catch up with the Treasure Troll to make it official. As far as location, it's gonna be out on Hillcrest (outside) in the south lot next to the old Montgomery Ward facing Hyphymart. Its gonna be off the chains and I expect to see you all there...

For those of you that remember the outdoor concert from 99' then this is similar but we wont have yall sitting outdoors in the heat for hours pretending that people are there that arent there. Imma be hosting the shit, and will make sure it flows as smooth as possible and keep people happy.

If there are any artists that you know of that want some exposure for the SUMMER JAM event, tell em contact Michael Johnson. (I'll post the # asap) For artists wanting to perform, it goes as follows...

10 mins = $300
15 mins = $350

If you know anyone that has a side hustle wanting to be a vendor, we dont give a damned if its selling water, I'll post the contact info for that also cause you'll make some grip posting up at an outdoor event in the heat. That has a fee to set up but its worth it...

We know that alot of people want to see this go down and we are bringing it to yall... As far as I can tell yall, spread the word, this isnt the official thread for this event cause I'll post the flyers and everything but for now I'm just informing you all of whats being set up. It'll be pumped on the radio so dont worry bout it. Get at me for more info about the after party too.

Off to work yall, something yall might not know nuttin' bout niggas!

No doubt... Actually Doughnut is Micheal Johnson. If you know him as Doughnut, then you really must know him... Ha... Yeah man, holla at him asap. Its gonna be the summer ending concert for sure.

Yeah that muthafucka from back in the day was off the chains. I got so tired of hearing them say The Popper this The Popper that... We didnt want to see him anymore. Then they kept saying who was coming out next then there was like 5 more local acts that came out and we just got fed up. Then they had the nerves to throw out hot ass water. Not this time... We gone do it...

JL thats real though... 35 @ 10 bucks a pop you break even at least and get exposure at the same time. But think about it, its a Tech and Rich show, everyones gonna be there. Back in 99' at that event, cats paid to perform. Matter of fact we got 4 acts thats done broke bread already to perform.

UPDATE: Tech isnt on the bill anymore... I know its jacked up but we are in a bidding war between YOUNG GEEZY, or JIM JONES & THE DIPLOMATS right now maybe even EBONY EYES for the ladies side RICH & openers. Just got word on that but its all good. It would've been a phenominal thing to get some UNITY going on in the city. But a dreams a dream and thats all it is. Sorry about that yall, sometimes what seems like a great idea to open up Tech to the skeptical natives of the city isnt so great to others. I'd love to see the two together on a show but in my eyes it aint EVER gonna happen EVER...

Heat, cats are lining up to pay to get exposure. For some 300 aint nothing but a pair of shoes and a pack of Staffords. Niggas out here ballin... I feel you though, but cats tryna get close to Rich believe it or not.

Sam... For those that dont want to pay can continue to show up at coffee shops during poetry nights on Tuesdays in front of 12 people and try to rap, sell 2 CD's and keep their money, get back on the Metro and go home. But if you doin' it, you understand that you gotta spend money to make money. If you are confident and know your hustle and your musics gonna sell and you product aint shitty, then you gone do what you gotta!!! Hows it gonna look we paying MC Bus Pass to perform. He aint doing us no favor. Cats look up to Rich, and thats where they tryna get next to. THey aint tryna get next to Tech really cause they feel locked out already. And thats not coming from me, thats coming from cats mouths.

I know it takes money to make money and stuff. But thats exactly my point ther. I gurantee most these cats are garbage and arn't gonna break even. How big of crowd are we talkin here?

On another note I shoulda seen Ritch perform in Columbia a few months ago. Damn.

On another note Young Jeezy. Damn. Good luck. Id like to see this actually.

Sorry, but paying to perform is silly as fuck. We did a show in Boise and the promoter was charging guys like 500 to perform. All to recover the costs to get tech there. He booked too many acts and people got real pissed when they found out they payed 500 for 5 mins of stage time. But you gotta make some money right?

Instead of paying 350 to perform and trying to sell 35 cds just to break even, why wouldnt someone just bring a box of 20 cds and sell them all and make $200 profit?

Good luck though Chuck. I hope this is a safe event that can make this city help heal some wounds and make some forget about all the bad things for one day at least.

Tech has a Lawrence show at the end of August. And while it's not a "KC" show, it's still a KC market, and a lot of KC fans will make the trip to Lawrence.

Yeah....you are supposed to get paid for shows, not pay for them. You know I'm with you Chuck, but the bottomline is if the promoter was sure it was a huge money maker he wouldn't be charging artists to try and break even on the back end.

The questions is will he give refunds to the cats that don't get to perform cause gun play starts halfway through 2nd opener's set?
