I would think they would be looking for unique visits based on username or remote ip address to calculate rank. Then again, tom probably wrote the ranking functions and he's everyone's friend.

Does myspace have any disclaimer or warnings regarding attempts to increase rankings through automation or anything such as? It's all fun and games until you read the fine print after it's too late.

I highly doubt that there is some some kind of disclaimer based on that issue, seeing as how MySpace is a free site, they can't really do anything except delete the MySpace profile. Seeing as how that's never happened, I can only conclude that they probably don't have some rule of that sort. I don't think tracking IPs to legitimize the number of profile views is on top of their priority list, it lies in poor attempts at stopping spammers from "phishing" your account.
