To the few folks wondering about the name "Sandstone".....

The company titled "Live Nation" that had the contract to manage the venue (similar to how AEG Live manages the Sprint Center), pulled their contract at the end of last year. Thus, the name "Verizon Wireless Amphitheater" was also pulled. The name has now gone back to the original, "Sandstone Amphitheater," or something like "Cap-Fed Park at Sandstone."

There are also a bunch of rumors going around the area that whomever owns the land is seriously considering selling it to a developer to do something entirely different with the land. Something like an entertainment type development... like western Wyandotte County doesn't have enough of that right now. :cheeky:

county owns the land. live nation wanted them to upgrade it, but the county wouldn't do it, so they backed out.

Exactly. I have a friend who used to work security there, and he's still "up" on what's been going on with everything. I was gonna guess that the Dotte's county government owned the land, but wasn't 100% certain.

I believe it was 2004 when Tech did Mix 93.3's "Red, White & Boom." This was also the only time I ever heard a Tech N9ne song (I'm a Playa) on a KC radio station that didn't have the call letters "KPRS" (HOT 103).

Man I wish it was still the Verizon Theater. I got a discount on all my tickets and free Red White and Boom tickets because I work for Verizon. Now I have to pay full price for mine hhaha...oh well..20.00 for a show like this is pretty good IMO

I'm still crossing my fingers though.

I wonder though, when Tech performs in front of a new crowd, what song does he first play? Does he play it safe with something more "normal" or does he start strange and do a regular tour set?

It's KC, mayne! Majority of the folks here, and that will be at that type of show, know all about Tech N9ne and his style of music.

Now, if he was performing at a show with more of a variety of artists, like pop, rock, etc., he might switch it up a little. I don't know that for a fact, but maybe.
