WWE is apparently preventing Bubba Ray & DVon Dudley from using those names now that they have left WWE.

The announcement on the Wrestle Reunion website that they will be involved in that show refers to them as "Team 3D". The Hardcore Homecoming website has a picture of them on the main page announcing their involvement in upcoming shows, but does not refer to them by name.

Our sources tell us when they left ECW they were assured by Paul Heyman that they could have rights to the name, but that they never filed for trademark protection. WWE has trademarks on Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley as well as Dudley Boyz.

We broke the news yesterday afternoon that WWE is preventing Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley from using those names now that they have left WWE. The names Bubba Ray Dudley, D-Von Dudley, and Dudley Boyz are trademarked by WWE.

After initially being billed as the Dudley Boyz by Wrestle Reunion, the name was switched on www.wrestlereunion.com yesterday to "Team 3D".

The word we get is that they are referring to themselves at Wrestle Reunion as "BRD" and "D-Von".

Speaking to fans at the convention, Team 3D criticized WWE for downplaying tag team wrestling and praised TNA for placing an emphasis on their tag teams. Team 3D also said they plan to go "conquer Japan like the Road Warriors".

One question that has been asked frequently online since the news of the name controversy broke here on 1wrestling.com is what name they'll use when signing autographs. A source at the Wrestle Reunion convention tells us they are signing as "B R Dudley" and "D-Von".
