Whats up...

I want to design a t-shirt. What is the area of a T-shirt? Do you download design templates from whoever is printing the shirt? How does this typically work? I have the design vectored in Illustrator so I can easily change the size, but I just want to know what size to make it.

Hook me up with some info. Thanks

http://monkeydrive.net/ ... My brother recommended this company. Looks like good prices and they do a good job. He said they have good customer service and are very approachable so I might just call them and see whats up and how its done. I know for screen printing they typically print up one screen for all size t-shirts I guess. So, it'd kinda be wack if you had the same screen for an XXL as for a medium. Gotta figure out how exactly they do it.

What I was told is, you can either make your design an average size ... example, one design fits all size t-shirts (Design would be smaller on an XXL shirt than a medium shirt obviously). Or, if you want your design to fill the same area for each size t-shirt, you get charged extra per screen. So, if you wanted Medium, Large, XL, XXL, you'd get charged for having them make four different screens.

I might just make Medium/Large shirts or Large/XL shirts and make one design, so the design would be a little smaller on the XL shirt. And, if that batch sells, might put up the money to get 4 screens made.
