Whata ding bat.

A man suspected of causing a three-car accident, then running away, had to call 911 for help when he got stuck in some bushes next to the freeway.

The accident happened Thursday morning on Interstate 405 in Renton near the Maple Valley Road exit, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Witnesses told the responding trooper that a Pontiac Grand Am had rear-ended a Toyota Corolla, which was then pushed into a pickup truck. But when a trooper arrived, the driver of the Pontiac was gone, having run off and jumped over a barrier and into some bushes next to the freeway.

The trooper called for help finding the man, but soon found out from dispatchers that there was a call to 911 from a man caught in the bushes by the freeway.

Dispatchers told the stuck man to yell for help and troopers quickly located him. They stopped a passing construction truck, borrowed a ladder and soon had the suspect hit-and-run driver out of the bushes. His clothes were torn and he was covered with scratches.

The 42-year-old Centralia man was wanted on a felony warrant from Florida and is also expected to face hit-and-run charges.

He probably ran because if he had a felony warrant he was going to jail no matter what; now add a hit and run, and he just added how much time he gets to sit behind bars.
