Surround sound for PS3??

So i got a samsung flatscreen and my girl just bought me a samsung surround sound setup and when we hook it up it only works wit the dvd player that came wit it??? When i turn on my ps3 none of the speakers work same as when i use my cable?? I got it hooked up via hdmi...I called samsung and talked to 2 totally retarded people who is tellin me it only works wit the dvd player?? What the fuck is the point of having surround sound if i cant even get it to work wit my cable or ps3!! I'm positive it's possible, does anyone know how to make this work???

Those cost a grip the recievers, shit we got lucky we got a surround sound from target in march came with 5 speakers a woofer and a reciever they may have em still its a RCA brand my shit works on all my tv inputs for 150$ that aint bad best buy charhes a grip for surround sounds. Shit play zombie with the woofer bass all up that shit is sick wen u play call of duty u can hear other peoples footsteps hella clear when they be tryn to sneak up on you and shit, to me it works best for the ps3 cuz wen i watch regular tv with the surround it aint as loud as the ps3..

That sucks, but man uncompressed hdmi 7.0 audio is the shit on the ps3. Cost a grip though paid 700 for a onkyo setup.

Never buy a Surround Sound box setup...they sound awful. Always buy separate components.

The easiest way I have dealt with surround sound compatability issues, is to a) make sure the television has an audio output port, b) connect appropriate cable/wire directly to the surround system itself. That way, you never have to worry about manually switching anything, as anything on your television screen will be what is being played through the upgraded speakers.

Come on man... it's simple. Go to Radio Shack, or a place that actually knows about electronics instead, and just get an audio splitter. You can change the shit with the flick of a switch and they're not expensive. If the speakers have wires coming out of them you can't tell me that you can't hook up other electronics with them.

This seems like a problem you should not be having in 2009.

It was the fuckin audio out plugs!!! lol and i only had to be on the phone for 2 hrs for somebody to tell me that!! Partly becuz they didn't come wit the fuckin thing i had to use my own.. I thought just the hdmi and it was good to go, but apparently i was wrong!! I was gettin hella pissed to..now i just gots to get these fuckin levels right..lol
