The Suns, who try to set a new team mark on Thursday at home to Toronto, also won 14 games in a row in December 1992 on the way to their last trip to the NBA finals.

Amare Stoudemire had 20 points and nine rebounds, Leandro Barbosa 18 points, Steve Nash 16 points and 12 assists and Raja Bell 15 points, all in the second half, as Phoenix overcame a slow start.

"We were stuck in the mud for the beginning of the game," Suns coach Mark D'Antoni told reporters.

Nash, the point guard who makes the Suns go, was scoreless for almost the whole first half before coming on and leading his team to 74 points in the last 26 minutes.

"I didn't feel good tonight at all," Nash said. "I could have told you that this afternoon in the hotel. There are nights you have to be mentally tough and try to hang in there and we certainly hung in there tonight mentally. It was difficult for us in stretches."

Sacramento scoring leader Kevin Martin (23 points) left the game with 4:25 remaining in the third quarter with a sprained ankle. He is doubtful for Tuesday's game against Dallas.

*Paul Pierce scored 35 points and had 11 rebounds and four assists as the Celtics won their fifth straight, 106-100 over the Bobcats in Charlotte. The win lifted Boston into first place in the Atlantic Division despite just a 10-13 record. The Celtics, who have their longest winning streak since seven straight victories in 2005, lost Wally Szczerbiak to his second ankle sprain of the season.

*In San Antonio, the Philadelphia 76ers lost their 11th straight as Manu Ginobli hit eight of his 17 points late in the Spurs' 103-98 victory.

*At Orlando, the Magic trailed by 13 early but then rode 21 points by Grant Hill and 14 points, 16 rebounds and five blocked shots by Dwight Howard to an 81-74 victory over Cleveland. LeBron James had 29 points to lead the Cavaliers and all scorers.

NEVER MIND THERE 15 GAME WIN STREAK WAS SNAPPED BY THE WASHINGTON WIZARDS LAST NIGHT.
They looked flat all night. Problem was, they were stuck in Denver until yesterday morning because of the snow storm. Then they took a 3 hour bus ride to Colorado Springs to the airport. Around 4 they finally caught the flight, didn't get into Phoenix until almost 6, and didn't arrive at US Airways until about 6:15. Tip off was 8:30. Don't want to take anything away from Washington though. Arenas was amazing with 54 points, and Butler dropped 30 something.
