On Aug. 31 2001, U.S. prosecutors moved on one of the gangs. Stepney and 16 other people allegedly affiliated with Big Block were indicted on federal cocaine sale conspiracy charges. The indictment alleges that Big Block members used intimidation, physical violence and armed assaults to protect their drug profits and turf.
