Nah I saw it as the Seattle game being his worst, which wasn't surprising since we didn't have our first team offense on the field the entire preseason, than I thought he had a great game vs the Saints, even with the first snap of the game and delanie fumble, @ Atlanta he started hot finished cold, had a great game vs Philly, and did fine vs the Raiders. Hes clearly better than David Carr but its 9ers first and Troys legs and arm make our weapons more visible on Sunday so it is what it is. My point is I thought Smith got fucked out of a win vs the Saints, Frank lost two fumbles vs Philly, I think Alex woulda won the Carolina game, and was/is capable of beating the donks and the rams. The real test for Troy is @ Arizona, we need a road win bad
Alex Smith plays great for about 5 minutes each game. Those 5 minutes were securing his starting job and giving his supporters hope and ammo to back his poor play.

If Alex played so well against New Orleans, we would have won that game. He didn't play nearly as poor as he did in other games, but great? No way. He threw 2 INTs and was off target on many throws. In fact, he really only looked good on the last drive with a spread-style offense and the defense sitting back.

He was atrocious against the Seahawks and Chiefs. You can blame Gore all you want for Philly, but Alex Smith put one on the ground and it resulted in 6 points for the defense. He also threw 2 INTs and made a shitty decision to throw on the last play he made with heat in his face. People blame Nate Clements for the Atlanta loss, but Alex Smith's shitty decisions put us in that position in the first place. We should have been up by 2 scores at the end and Nate Clements' INT wouldn't have even mattered. He started off looking bad against Carolina as well.

Alex Smith has never looked good for an entire game. Troy Smith has looked good the past 6 quarters, including the whole game against STL. Once the offense opened up a little for him against Denver in the second half, he's looked good. Alex didn't get fucked out of his job, he fucked himself out of his job. But there's always an excuse to be made for him when another QB comes in and looks better. First it was Hill, and people claim the offense opened up more for Hill. Sure. Now it's Troy, but I've yet to hear a valid excuse for him looking better than Alex. Same players, same coaches, same offense, better QB.
