The Shining and It. "It" probably would have been alot better as a movie in the theatre imo though because the book was fucking crazy. if the movie would have been more like the book it would have been fucking sick.

Needful Things.

I would say The Shining, but that was more of a Kubrick film then it was King's story. In fact, King was so outraged that Kubrick's movie was so different than his book he made his own movie starring the guy from Wings, which sucked.

King failed to realize/accept the awesomeness of Kubrick.

If you've read the book, you'd know what King was talking about. Kubrick totally did his own thing, which Im not saying is bad. It just wasnt an accurate depiction of the book.

I believe Mick Garris directed Stephen King's version of the Shining (since he does all of King's other movies) and yeah, wasnt too good. It was just too cheesy and miniseries-esque.

you really like that movie? You should read the book. The book (which is under king's pen name Richard Bachman) is probably the best Stephen King book Ive ever read (and Ive read close to all of them). It isnt a horror story, but in no way at all does is resemble the shitfest that was the movie. Whoever directed that movie should be shot in the head.

Now if hollywood wants to remake a movie, it should be Running Man. Because the story behind that is awesome.

Ive read the first two books from the dark tower series. Ive always meant to read em all consecutively, but havent got around to it.

I think it would make a good movie. Would have to be a pretty big budget though.

.
Well right, Kubrick made it into a masterpiece, one of the greatest horror movies of all time. King's version is great for reading, but Kubrick made it into a great film.

Stand By Me probably my favorite because the pacing, acting and story mad eit a classic.
My favorite horror movie would be Pet Semetary and the Shining. The Shining, to me was great. I can understand King being upset that it was so different from the book but it's a very good different.

TV movies were mostly all good.
Tommyknockers and IT were really good.
