Both silva and okami have something to resolve and that fight needs to happen and okami deserves a title shot especialy after the way he koed tanner. But knowing the ufc that fight will never happen because they have never let two non americans fight for the title.
When have two non americans been in position to fight for the title in the UFC? Okami and Kampmann (although injured) are making noise for the 185lb title and neither are american. People just need a reason to slam the UFC it seems .. also had Okami beat Franklin he would've no doubt fought Silva right after.

Under zuffa ownership it is fact whether you want to beileve it or not The US is their biggest market and, to them, marketing a foreign fighter isn't going to bring in as much money as a Chuck Liddell or Matt Hughes. It's a business. Unless your name is anderson silva.

The "whether you believe it or not" arguement is weak. Do you not acknowledge the fact that if Okami would've beat Franklin he would've gotten a title shot? Blame Okami for not fighting a full 3 rounds. Or gripe about Zuffa not signing international competition but don't make it seem like they fuck people out of title shots because they're not american. Jon Fitch looks as american as anyone to me and he consistently gets played out of his shot .. do you have an excuse for that, or is Fitch just too american.

I don't care if it's weak or not its fact that it has do to with marketability. do you think 2 foreign fighters fighting for the title will put butts in seat ? and as for jon fitch he should be getting next title shot agianst the winner of GSP/SERRA. maybe okami would have gotten a title shot had he beat franklin or maybe not. Prior to the fight between Franklin do you think he would have put asses in seat if given a title shot agianst silva?

You're changing your stance. The fact is if Okami would've beat Franklin he would've gotten a title shot, marketable or not. There's no doubt in my mind that they try to set up marketable title shots by putting the right people in front of each other at the right time. If Okami would've played the spoiler he would've gotten his shot, marketable or not. The fact is that Okami is to blame for losing his original opportunity at a shot against Silva by his lack of fighting in the Franklin fight. I will make sure to bump this thread when two deserving non americans fight for a UFC title.

is anderson talkin bout goin to boxing to fight them or challenging them to come get him? i cant imagine him going to boxing but i can imagine some cocky fucking boxing champ thinking he is tough coming to ufc and get absolutely dismantled by the spider... his next fight i agree should be either GSP (who may fight intimidated like first hughes fight) or Rampage, Dan Henderson gave rampage everything he could stand and lost a decision that really couldve gone either way... not to mention traditionally against the top brazilian fighters jackson isnt doing too well (shogun anniliated him, and wanderlei beat his big ass straight out of the ring) i truly believe rampage's run as king of the 205 division would be truly tested by anderson silva

not in ufc but id say paulo filho (non american) would be a formidable opponent for silva but they may be on the same team and will never fight may have heard that before... so that would be a sick fight but not too many people know about paulo and it doesnt appear dana is going to sign him... but if we are lookin for foriegn championship fight here we go

maybe Okami would have gotten a shot but I don't believe he would have prior to the franklin fight. yes he lost but still. An when has the ufc set a title match up that was not marketeble under zuffa ownership?

Anderson Silva Vs. Nate "My only televised fight was a horrible showing against Ivan Salaverry which I later tested positive for steroids and now I'm coming straight out of the prelims and fighting for the title" Marquardt was marketable? I didn't see many people ranting and raving over Tim Sylvia Vs. Jeff Monson. Usually you can tell an unmarketable title fight because they pair it up with a more interesting title fight or just another title fight period to use the "2 titles on the line" angle.

The point isn't whether Okami would've gotten the shot prior to his fight with Franklin the point is that he was put in a position to fight for a title and gave it up. It's Okamis fault he didn't fight Silva, not the UFCs.

I still don't believe okami would have gotten the title shot had he beat franklin.

Lets take last night for example. If Kongo had won the fight, I think he would have been next in line for a shot at Big Nog. There you go, 2 non-American fighters. But he got his ass beat the last round and lost a split decision he had in the bag. That why you fight the full 15 minutes. If it was a 12 1/2 minute fight, he woulda won.

Silva has to go up to light heavyweight there is nothing for him to prove at 185. He got a pretty big frame shit he was alot bigger that henderson and he dominated the 205's

Anderson Silva vs Ushin Okami is needed and I guarantee it'll be a success. Here you have Anderson Silva sittin on top of a mountain that cant be touched. Then you got Okami that manhandled a former 185 champion. Okami is in Japan right now being praised as a God and will get the old japanese fight fans hungry for that fight. For Dana sake he should set this one up in Japan. Your getting an untouchable fighter right now thats holding an american and japanese belt vs a samurai waiting to prove to his country hes been makin moves. I think it'll be equal if not greater than this past UFC. Then Japan could see their fighters fight american fighters in a cage. Makes sense doesnt it????
