Gotta give it to 40....consistant as ever...he sold more this week than he did last week...

His lastest single "U & DAT" is doing it for him all the females love that song and its a club banger. IMO he shouldnt drop no new single yet he just let that song rotate for the rest of the summer then in the fall drop his third single and he'll go platinum.

Both 40 and Busta still havent gone gold yet. Now that's surprising to me. Both are good CDs with alot of push. Iunno it just seems to me that ablums arent selling as well as they used to.

^^^I know it seems like no one buys albums anymore. I remember in the 90's if a rapper had the promo 40 or Busta had, they would have gone platinum in 2-3 months. It took Chamillion a while. It looks like T.I got the streets and the clubs on lock. It seems the only people that move major units today are Em and 50. That says a lot about the people buying records. Dumbed down club music is what they want. That's why you got that Laffy Taffy bullshit and lean wit it crap on the radio.

both those 40 and Busta albums are seriously weak, especially when you consider the quality of albums they have been known to release in the past. 40’s album screams rush job to capitalize on a fad and Busta’s album is full of tracks where you wish he would just give the track to the featured artist so we can enjoy the song without him wrecking it.

“Touch it” got released far to early to support album sales and “Tell me when to go”’s novelty wears off by the second listen (if you can get that far). Neither album has a quality second single on it and neither has a second single that's getting spins because people WANT to hear it, pay for play.

the only reason either of these should have pushed more units is because of the machine behind them, not due to the quality of the albums.

Both 40 and Busta still havent gone gold yet. Now that's surprising to me. Both are good CDs with alot of push. Iunno it just seems to me that ablums arent selling as well as they used to.

These sales arent worldwide they just in the states. So they actually sold more then whats on that chart.

Also that Busta album is far from weak.

@ COLDBLOODED: How did you form your opinions???

Luck has a lot to do with what's going on now. The new age of music listeners wait until his/her friend buys it and then a pattern sets. A prime example is CHAMILLIONAIRE'S-SOUND OF REVENGE. CHAM is a tight rapper but his album could have been a lot better. After releasing "RIDIN DIRTY" his sales soared to unbelievable heights and now hes platinum plus. ICE CUBE dropped a dope album with some fire singles as usual & 40 WATER dropped a supertight album from front to back but alot of folks are still weary of buying the album based on not being able to catch on to his slang I guess. It's not the quality you put out. It's luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Agree

ICE CUBE's new album is heavly slept on only old school fans really know the history about his rap career. The new listeners theses days actually think Ice Cube is just a actor that dropped a album and they think E-40 is a new artist Li Jon discovered, they didnt know about all the albums he dropped and all the work he put in out his car trunk.

anyways....good to see 40s album still putting up solid #s week after week....whether you like the album or not, 40 has brought the national spotlight to the bay........if you are a true fan of bay rap, you want to see this album do well, even if you think the album is sub par or not......40 will get gold soon, then well see if the album has enough push to reach plat...plat is still far off, but who wouldnt wanna see 40 go platinum........and good to see cube putting up respectable #s for independent.......bet hes seeing some bread off that.....

I see what you're saying but shit Rhymefest co-wrote Jesus Walks, had a nice single(Brand New) and had Kanye on his single. I would think atleast some more people would recognize his talent. Record sales is tough right now.
