This is a dam shame... After all the work, photoshoot, emails etc... is all going to waste. I don't know what it is going to take for everyone to come together from the southbay. This was a great ave. to show the unity from San Jo and for all the artists to get the well deserved shine. It's not like we have this opportunity given to us everyday.

Daric - Hit me up !!! Maybe we can do the regular mag with a spotlight on the southbay or something with what we have.

Uncle Jess - Thanks for all the photo's you did at the shoot. I hope they get some type of showcasing for the great work you did.

Hi this is Daric B owner of Southwestbound Magazine. I just wanted to tell you about this San Jose issue we were trying to do. Well its been almost 2 or 3 months in the making and as of today only 7 artist out of 23 have finished up there interviews and ads.

Just so you all know a full page ad in that issue was only $250 just to cover cost on this issue. and on top of that hella people want to get half pages in the issue. If you don’t have $250 bucks for you album your in the wrong business.

So to the people who have already paid you can get a full refund or we can run your story’s and ads in our real issue at no extra cost to you. I’m going to print Monday on the new issue so get at me if you want in the regular issue asap.

DARIC

Maybe I'm taking this the wrong way, maybe this hot ass weather got something to do with things BUT, it sounds/reads to me like you making a blanket statement on San Jose. I think you may need to get with those that got at you about placing ads, and they didnt follow through. Sometimes you gotta check the caliber and the credentials of those you fuckin with on the buisness aspect. Cause alot of times those that claim to be about it, aint about it.

You right $250 aint shit. So that needs to be directed to those who aint came through on there end of the deal that had with you. Remember the music buisness especially here in Northern Cali Independent scene aint always ballers or street folks with long money. You dealin with Lil so and so whose parents bought his ass a make shift studio and they keep comin out with garbage albums every week. So they aint havin no money cause they whole "company" is based in they bedroom at the mommas house (and thats a reality in EVERY city).

In my closing, I wanted to address your language in which you said "they could run thier stories/ads in our REAL issue". Whats that about? So those who was trying to get some shine in your magazine was in the fake verion of Southwest Bound? If you was gonna do some stories on San Jo rappers, you should have just striaght interviewed some cats that was pioneers in the shit, the rest of them new cats, yea, they need to get in line and put they money where they mouth is. I dont knw I just wanted a lil clarification. :::FOR ALL DRAMA SEEKERS THIS IS NOT ME TRIPPIN< JUST ASKING THIS BROTHER ABOUT HIS COMMENTS< SO PUT YOUR POM POMS DOWN AINT NO SHOW HERE:::

.... and uhh, aint no rappers in SAN JOSE? I swear some of yall think you in the bidness, but from your comments you show all that you aint. :siccness:

No... lets...

I dont know you.. dont know what your accomplishments are or if you even have any.. but.. in your response you words drip with sarcasm and you speak as if youre talkin' to some new kid on the block.. you dont know what has gone on between the magazine and the 'artists' in the past 2-3 months- constantly reminding and riding these folks to get their money in, get their advertisements/write-ups in.. nor do you know who was approached to be a part of this issue, folks that was talkin' big shit but came thru with NOTHIN'...
You say that $250 isnt shit (..thats what we're sayin'..) and the "statement" needs to be directed at those that havent come thru on their end of the deal (..thats what we're sayin'..)...
I just put together the NW Issue of SouthWestBound (it came out DOPE btw..) and I'll say this.. I doubt I do it again.. shouldnt no grown ass man have to be reminded 3-4-5-6 times to get his artwork in.. to get his funds in... be about your business folks... every rapper out there thinks he's the hottest shit on the planet and should be given--GIVEN-- a spot in the mag because of who they are.. are you serious..? Magazines dont put themselves out... invest $250 in your 'career' unless what youre doin' is your side hustle..
As for the "real" issue comment-- there are no fake editions of SouthWestBound.. The SJ issue, the NW issue are "Special Edition" issues ..

Oh.. and as for your comment about takin' advertising money from rappers that still live with they moms... the stories I could tell.... *wink*

I KNEW YOU COULDNT RESIST THOSE LAST WORDS I PUT OUT THERE, TOO MUCH TEMPTATION. I dont know you either, but from what I have seen on these boards from you, I see you like to add in comments on what you may think is going on, and pretty much shape a coversation with certain lugs you tend to drop out there. I'm okay with that, really. So when I seen you get at me, I knew these paragraphs would come, it kinda reminds me of someone else that frequents the boards..*wink* LOL always coming with some long explanation. Now I dont know what interest you have in me giving a direct comment to Daric, because as I recall I didnt say Daric AND Kalyn. I just said Daric. Who knows, you may have some of your money wrapped into this, but that is not the issue.

For the record Kalyn, as I have seen you or whoever has been using your screen name on this board, go back and forth in arguements with folks on here. I dont do that. I will state a position, and then let it alone. Right now I think I'm doing too much by typing this, but I want to give you the respect of a response. You must have a vested interest in this to come to such a defensive stance, when there was no real attack that would want to cause you to be on a defensive. I have seen many classic "battles" on these boards, whether they turn into cursing and street things, or a battle of wits. I will do neither. Just let you know that dont go off of what you think you know Kalyn always strive to get actual facts.

:::NOW I'M READING YOUR WORDS:::
I just read your words and I gotta say these things.

1. Address those who didnt come thru on thier end, making blanket statements as in NO ONE handled they business aint cool.

2. Assassin said it in his response, stop dealing with them lil dudes, and get with those that are business oriented.

3. You dont have to know me or any of my accomplishments. As I dont know any of yours, just a screen name with an eye avatar. Just know that I have eaten and continue to eat on makin rap records, its not the only way I get my money, but the extra income does help pay bills.

4. My words "drip with sarcasm"? You are good to get that from words that are typed on a computer screen. This has got to be my most humble approach to anything on here. You come hard on folks, then its a challenge, you come humble, you being sarcastic, you just cant win huh?

5. Again $250 aint shit. It needs to be paid by someone who is looking for some exposure. Your words in your response seem like they were directed at me not investing $250. This aint nothin to me, its a hobby. When I feel like rappin, I rap, when I dont, I dont. I know magazines do not put themselves out. I said there are a few pioneers in SJ Rap that IMO should have been approached to do an interview of a feature. I mean some sort of appreciation for all that that pioneer has done. Assassin would have been my choice, even MC Twist. All the othe cats thats comin up in the game, yea they gotta pay for some light cause business is business.

6. Last but not least, if those who are out in the SJ area are out there doing it right and putting out solid material, then thier promotion wouldnt have to be paid for, it will be had when those who get interviewed are asked these questions : "So who in the SJ rap game inspired you, who do you listen to as far as San Jo rap, who are the first you heard put it down for your city?" :classic:

I hope you understood my point. I wish you continued success in whatever you do and have BEEN doing. Peace Be Onto you.
