There are lots of alternative solutions to what's fucking up the planet(or wer). But like u said the corps are not ready to give they shit up. I've seen a documentary where they make fuel out of hemp. And that shit is a weed it grows hella quick and easy, make the toughest ropes clothes and even paper it would save trees. Suprisengly alternatives where found hella years ago before we even had a big global warming and hella environmental problems just that they didn't want the petroluem business to go out even tho it was harmful , they could give a dam less about the effects it would have they all knew.
