Jay-Z is good and thats what it is. i never understood why he would even be considered one of the greats when there's just too many rappers out there that can outclass him. Lil Wayne is poor. not bad cause the guy has potential but he just doesnt utilize it and therefor he sucks currently, maybe one day he'll snap out of it (highly doubtful). so they throw one bar at each other and it needs a thread? i mean really? when it becomes a full song on some personal shit instead of 2 rich snob bickering over there towers of money then we should continue this discussion, till then /thread.

Crooked i, royce, eminem, Busta rhymes, twista, 2pac, nas, big daddy kane, Big L, Raekwon (example) are what i consider excellent rappers and better then both. But you dont have to be the best lyricst to be considered great its all about the formula on putting songs together. wayne doing his damn thing.
