I would hope you would care. Getting him signed and in practice would be a huge step to getting him ready for next season. If not then you wasted a #1 and will be yet another year behind on the QB curve.
Well he'd screw himself out of first contract money but NOT playing time. He performs his 2nd contract he would make the money back on...so to him it's no big deal....on the other hand the Raiders are looking bad for the situation, and digging themselves a bigger hole of they don't make it happen.
Easier said then done..he'll be putting himself in a worse situation regardless. As of right now he hasn't played a game in the NFL and will still be making top dollar if he signs..if he passes on signing he will have to earn the money else where.

I thinks it's the Raiders fault. He's not in camp because the Raiders don't want to put the skill/injury clauses in his contract. Every other top pick has skill/injury clauses in their contracts so why are the Raiders not wanting to include those clauses in the contract? They should've known already before they drafted him. I gotta side with JR on this one.
Look at what happened to that player from Buffalo... He may never play football again and he maybe handi-capped for life. Hopefully Buffalo will hook him up with loot that will help him out if he isn't able to play football again.
supposibly today hes meeting... but at this point it dont really matter no more.. he's needed for next season he'll have all the time in the world to practice once he signs
No, its the nature of the business' fault. Signing this kids for millions of dollars in the standard and its now coming around and biting teams in the ass.
