So I'm Bumping Oldies Right Now...

I love kicking back throwing on some classic oldies from the 60's & 70's. Stuff that my dad grew up with when he was growing up.

So I'm looking online trying to find some singles. Youtube always seems to have a video of the hard to find tracks. Thing that gets me is that the majority of the songs are sung by black artists but the posters of the track seem to incorporate "LOWRIDER OLDIES" "CHICANO HITS" and throw up a bunch of Cholo shit throughout the video.

I am high off my pain relievers right now, shits just funny to me how a lot of people associate the artists as Latino/Mexican/Chicano whatever you wanna call it

My aunt too called it Chicano Music, and she teaches CHICANO STUDIES in LA, and my pops is like your aunt is crazy... it's just music

Haha I just don't get why people can't find a pic of the artist. LOL look at all the pics associated with the song.

Some of the comments are even funnier. Forgot which one but there was some racist ass shit on there about black people and I'm like WOW doodes don't be knowing that the artists that sing these songs are black

I called into a radio station in San Jose (94.9 Javier the X-Man, show was called Que Pasa) one time on a Sunday night cause the DJ was saying how "everyone" was jumping on the bandwagon listening to "chicano oldies", and lowriding.

I pointed out the same thing you did. I also took him back to lowridings beginnings both BLACKS and MEXICANS were doing it. Way back when they was puttin house speakers and had actual record players in thier cars.

Then on style of dress, cause dude had said something bout Zoot suits and shit, then I asked him, "Well, what did Malcolm X have on back in the days before he went to the Pen?..........................
