Your fucked homie expect the fines to double, 180 days of work program and 9 months of classes and license suspended for a year. And jail time I'd expect 30 days with possible work release. Plus your car ins rates are gonna be fuckin ridiculous The muni bus and your bart pass is gonna be your best friend for at least a year

One a side note I'd fuckin cut that shit out ASAP, If you get caught again it is a class 3 or 4 felony and you will go to prison. I have a couple homies back home who went to San Quentin for DUI charges, basically you have a felony on your record for the rest of your life and that shit will hold you back as long as your breathing. Imagine not being able to get a good job or a nice place to live over some stupid shit like that, it aint the business
Out of all the replies...this my friend, is what you should be expecting.

That's the most on point replie on this thread.

felony? im charged with misdemeanor of the DUI and the misdemeanor of violating unsupervised probation. but damn. really though, doing any time for DUI is probably the most ridiculous shit. i rather beat someones ass to get jailtime. what you mean by work release though? meaning, my job will not discharge me while im in jail? btw, isnt it possible that i get only a few days or probably no jailtime @ all if i show responsibility in work & school, etc? if i do, cant i do swap instead? i know im fucked, but jail is the worst shit of all. i was up in 850 for a few days and it felt like a fucking month. all for some DUI bullshit. hopefully i could pull some strings on the jailtime. this sure has taught me a lesson this time around and should to those whose on that DUI hype thinking theyre invisible. but at the end of the day, at least i didnt do something reckless like kill someone.

you will maybe get 10 days in the county and work release is only good if its a couple of days. Work release means wakin up at like 7 and work for the county and pay a fee. Its from 8 to 4 once a week I think saturdays or sundays

No way hes getting 30.

A friend of mine got his 3rd DUI and only got 45 days on a plea.

He will probably get 10 or 14 or so, unless he really is that unlucky and you guys are right about the month thing. Ive rarely heard of that for a 2nd offense though, its usually just fines amounting to about $10,000 - $15,000 when all is said and done (counting ALL fees and classes of course)

The judge may be an asshole Homie and has every right not to show any type of mercy to you in this case. They don't care what responsability your showing by working and going to school...you fucked up and showed a huge irresponsabilty by driving drunk. That's what matters to the court at this time.

The point being that it's not your first, but your second...that's telling them you didn't learn your lesson the first time around. Now they may feel they need to tighten their grip on you.

He may even say he wants you to do the time and not give two shits about your job and school...only to release you after your time and have to start over (look for a new job etc etc). At that point your going to need a job to pay the fines or you'll find you ass back in jail. You think it sounds harsh? That's their way to show you they mean business. Just because you do the time doesn't mean everything is paid for...you'll still have classes and a huge fine to pay.

Just because you didn't drive reckless or kill anybody doesn't mean they should slap you on the wrist again Homie. There are people out there getting killed by drunk drivers. Peoples kids, fathers, mothers, grandmothers, brothers, sisters of all ages etc etc...go tell them families that lost a loved one to a drunk driver your plea...see if they agree you should be shown mercy. It's people like you who keep doing the shit over and over because they didn't get caught or didn't kill anybody (wouldn't you call that thinking invisible?)...until the day they fuck up and end up killing somebody for their ignorance. Doing time for a DUI is no bullshit...bullshit is DUI.

I have a personal Homie that got 25 with an L for drunk driving...killed a 45 year old woman and a 9 year old girl out on the freeway (wrecked into them). In the state of California you can be charged with assault with a deadly weapon if driving drunk and face LIFE IN PRISON if you kill somebody for driving drunk, so consider yourself lucky Homie and learn your lesson.

Don't shoot the messenger though...I saw a judge break it down worse on some dude that was in your shoes Homie...they are not fucking around with this shit and the more you try and make reason of it, the worse the judge may be ripping you a new one for every word out your mouth.
