Man I don't love the shit but I don't think the beat is that weak. It's pretty catchy once you get past how different it is at first.

If I would have changed anything I prob woulda spit a third verse instead of the call and response stuff.

homey, I swear to God since I have been on this site, which is about 8 years now, 40 got more support from this community with his last album than damn near any other artists or album........motherfuckers were on here voting 5 times everyday on mtv and bet even if they didnt like his singe TMWTG....and people who never buy album were on here posting pics of the album they picked up at the store....it was the most amazing thing id ever seen in terms of support. No one wants to see 40 flop, especially the people on here. Keep in mind we got 40 to where he is at. I just think we as fans of 40 for the last 10+ years are confused with the single. We all know what 40 is capable of on an underground and mainsteam level, and turf drop just didnt seem right.

I just wanted to address that statement you made. 40 got a whole lot of support from this site, so we have a right to voice our opinion on the single. However, WE ALL wish the best for 40, cuz you are correct, he is the captain of this bay shit, and he needs to do well to keep the spotlight on us. I am sure everyone who hates the single turf drop will still BUY the album when it drops.
powerful post, all truth

It wuz cool tha 1st couple times I heard it, but as far as a single, I don't think that shoulda happened. He's got way better things goin' than that song. I think it woulda been better if that wasn't tha lead-off single for his album. Regardless, I'm gunna support dude and buy it, but if I wasn't already biased & that was the 1st song I heard, it wouldn't sound different than anything else I've heard from any other random artist from the South or the Bay.

Its doin okay. I mean ppl dance to it, but they don't go crazy. I think it's a lil too goofy personally. Mostly the beat, cuz 40 always spits. The beat doesnt even slap too hard. It's like Do Ya Thizzle, except that grew on me after a few listens.

It needs a video to help it out. Then maybe the mainstream will catch on. Also they never even released a clean version or instrumental. For us DJs who do school dances (this song is for the kids right..) we had to make our own edit of it, without the instrumental which means it's just reversed which I think always sounds like shit. Also it's a lil hard to mix in cuz there's talking on the intro and outro. I mean it's not hard at all, but it's more convenient when you have a DJ version with a intro and outro with the beat.
