It's someone who posts on here saying that this is SNOOP's best album. I believe DOGGYSTYLE is but I haven't listened to THE DOGGFATHER since '96 or '97 and I didn't think it was all that great. I popped it in the tape deck yesterday and realized SNOOP dropped a gem when mf's wasn't ready for it. After PAC died, my mind must've gotten confused but this is a tight album 9/10.

Dude, I play this album nonstop since 96 or 97. #14 (Sixx Minutes) is one of the smoothest songs I've heard. You're right, mf's wasn't ready for it back then. Just like Warren G's "Regulators" song. Way before it's time. All the artists come sic on Doggfather, specially when Big Trey D gets on the mike. Instant classic.

I never got it cuz everybody said it was wack back then, I havn't bought anything from snoop since Doggystyle, I got the Eastsidaz first one and I didn't really like that shit either.

Well, compared to what he does nowadays, THE DOGGFATHER doesn't sound so bad--"Snoop's Upside Ya Head" was a little too obvious, but otherwise, Snoop was still somewhat committed...

yeah i slept on that album for a few years also...averything after doggfather isnt even worth downloading...i dont know how the hell he keeps it up...every new single he puts out is shit...his lyrics are garbage nowadays...his beats are mediocre at best...you still have to love him for his antics but as far as liking him for his music...its GARBAGE.

Yup. I did like Snoop on both the Eastsidaz' CDs, and he was okay on Dre's CHRONIC 2001 and on WC's "The Streetz", but sometimes, it just sounds like Snoop's treating music as something to "get out of the way" so that he can make more GIRLS GONE WILD videos (trust me, folks, you can find better looking chicks on the E! channel, for whatever that's worth! LMFAO)...

THE LAST MEAL could have been dope, because the production had a funky, 'seventies blaxploitation soul groove, but Snoop sounded really anemic on the lyrics...

thats what i thought when i first bought it back when it came out. only listened to it twice. i only like that snoop doggy dogg is doggy doggest father or some shit. but imma have to listen to it again to hear what yall is talking about.
