I've been bumping this and E 40-GRIT & GRIND. They both are tight albums but I read that alot of cats on this site saying nothing but negative things about them. Why??? That's the only question I ask because I can't seem to find nothing weak about em. Holla back.

Just cause you think it's tight don't mean EVERYBODY gonna agree....it's open to individual tastes..some like it...some hate it...

I think with the 40 though, a lot of fans would like to see 40 go back to his old vallejo style (federal shit)...I know I do...

Snoop is weak in my opinion so I'm not gonna say too much about that...

E 40 was better than Snoop IMO.
The reason why nobody likes the more recent cds of more better known rappers. Is because at some time in their life they take a turn for the better and exchange the "hood" or "ghetto" for a life of luxury which is well deserved because of the american dream. No matter what a rapper is saying he will no longer be in the element which made him into what he is today. This is wHy older albums have that hungry feel to them, that was the mentality at the time when they were broke and looking to get a buck. IMO

Yeah, GRIT & GRIND had some very tight cuts--overall, it didn't go far enough to be a classic, but it was worth getting for fans. "Why They Don't Fuck With Us", "The Slap", "Automatic", "It's All Gravity", "Mustard & Mayonaise", "My Cup" (not the best, but it's fun), "Whomp Whomp", "End Of The World", "Pimps, Playas & Hustlas", "Fallin' Rain" and "Rep Yo City" (even though Lil Jon's yelling gives me a headache) were my favorites.

As for Snooper--the only stuff of his I've been able to get into since DOGGYSTYLE were parts of NO LIMIT TOP DOGG and his appearances on the two Eastsidaz's CDs (which Tray Dee and Goldie Loc basically carried, and they did it well. I love Tray Dee's grimy-sounding voice).

But Snoop seems more interested in making GIRLS GONE WILD videos than in music these days. PEACE!

I completely agree with you. Same thing with Master P, he keeps saying in his albums "nothin changed but our bank accounts" yet he raps about having nice rims, a nice house, and basically the luxury life.

Same with Snoop, with the exception of his first album and some of his No Limit and EastSidaz gigs, I am not really feelin any of his new material.

That fake ass Snoop song "Beautiful" in my opinion is really a Pharrel/Neptunes song since Pharrel is the only distinguishable personality on that song.

Yall confuse me. So all of yall are saying that every artist that you like, yall want ALL of their albums to sound like the one before it. That's weird. NONE of PAC'S albums sounded alike at all but everybody bumps all of them. I don't get it.

To my understanding, that's cuz he (supposedly) dead. A dead artist's music, no matter what album it came from becomes hot since they can't get that music from that artist anymore.

Besides rapping about f***ing girls, I ain't heard pac rap about rims or cars or ice or any of that.

When pac was alive, was anyone bumping his "lost tapes"?

Well, I have no problem with Snoop not rapping about Gangsta life--my problem is with his DELIVERY and the SOUND of his voice on most of the shit he's done beginning with THE DOGGFATHER.

Except for NO LIMIT TOP DOGG, The Eastsidazs' two CDs and Dre's 2001 CD, Snoop post-'96 sounds to me like he's treating Rap as a chore to get out of the way before making his "Girls Gone Wild" videos or whatever. During '93/'95, Snoop's voice had a "drawl" and "bite" (listen to "G'z And Hustlas" and "Tha Shitznit"). The subject matter really isn't important to me, as long as the rapper sounds like he CARES about what he's doing. On THE CHRONIC and DOGGYSTYLE, Snoop sounded like he was doing what he wanted to do: Rap.

Now, musically, THE LAST MEAL had a cool, 'seventies Funk vibe, but Snoop was following the post-'99 No Limit lead (like on TRU's sorry-ass DA CRIME FAMILY) by doing skimpy two-verse songs where the verses sounded half-assed, like on "Wrong Idea", "True Liez", "Ready 2 Ryde", and "Go Away", on which the third verse was just the first verse repeated! C'mon Snoop!!! Has the pot fried your brain to the point where you're too lazy to think of a third verse?!? It's Snoop's prerogative to keep making records--I just wish his delivery weren't so lazy and whispery-sounding. If he doesn't care to Rap anymore, maybe he ought just get into movies or TV more...PEACE!
