I thought this album was in between OK and good, he's gonna get better in a few years. Lyrically he doesn't blow me away at all, nothing crafty or witty in his rhymes. I may have to listen harder to see if I missed any hot lines. A lot of bling blinging lyrically, I guess thats not different from rappers nowadays. However he has potential to be big, the combination of Slo-O and Checkmate could be a success in the future. I had no problems with the guest appearances, I just wanted to hear more solo's form Slo-O, I think PromotionCM said they will be doing that on the next album.

Production was again between ok and good, when Checkmate is on point he's hot. My favorite beat on the album was "Chromed Up" Checkmate was on point on that one. The album gots a Mannie Fresh type of feel to it, but the consistency wasn't entirely there. Some songs I had a hard time listening to because I got bored. But like I said the potential is there, I'm anticipating the second release to see how much he's improved.

It's worth the 12.98$

Tenkamenin, Sup playboy, its Checkmate. i appreciate the honesty but there is a lot i dont agree with. One thing i do agree with you that Slo-O does need more solos. Just like you i am not the biggest fan of platinum "bling bling" trend neither. But guess what?? there is an audience for everything out there. We have 3 songs on that level which i think is coo. To be a successful rapper, he gota touch all subjects.

Chromed Up is also our single for radio because it has friendly content but its still hard at the same time. i dont think radios would wana hard songs like Game Over or Live Niggas? unless there is a strong promotion behind it. Thats where you could plug in the bling bling songs. Look at how may people hate Jay-Z or Nelly but these guys are 4x times platinum artists, they must be doin something right. Our album is selling pretty good in the stores, and hopefully people on this board starts to pick it up as well.

I always try to do things muscially so people from all coasts could feel my shit. I think Slo-O got potential to be nationwide artist. Honestly, i think we did a pretty good job for a debut album. We have talked to lot of MAJOR names/ Major DJs in the music industry who also seem to feel the same way. With radio support, i think the album could easily reach Gold. I think the future holds some of the best music you guys gona hear from the bay and our label. Thanks for your time to review the album. -Checkmate

Please don't take my comments as a diss to Slo-O or you. Like I said in my post that you guys have the potential to be big. And I did say that this was good for a debut album.

And I have no problem with the bling bling type of rap, I was just letting the audience know that there was going to be a lot of it. It wasn't a diss of some sort...

But I hear and understand your comments, like I also said I'm anticipating the next release.

Tenkamenin. Its all good doggy. I knew you wasnt dissin, your just stating your opinion and i was doing the same. I just wanted to give my side of the story because everything i did on the album was for a reason. Yes some of my beats do sound down south, i did that for versatility so people could see that i could make any style of beats. I could make all East or West Beats, ITS NOTHIN. I dont like to limit myself, i like to do it all. I am gona suprise lot of cats in the future.

Slo-O is very talented, you just gota get used to his style. Brotha been rapping for 11 years. I like the fact that he sounds different for lot of reasons. Strangely we get more of a feedback from other states which is not bad at all, i was even offered to get commercial radioplay at Florida radio station. But i wana keep concentrating at home (California) first because it all starts here. Anyway You been a supportive cat from the start. Keep it honest. Thanks for everything.
