In the past I have liked Scatterman, personally and professionally cause I feel like he is real. The question I would have asked next would have been "if you were so bitter about the way you were treated with Strange why did you record and appear on several projects after your release saying shit like you will ride for'em without the paperwork?"

Gotta make some sort of money. And im sure he appeared out of respect for the other artists since he aint saying they are part of the problem. I can respect what he is saying and get how frustrating that would be for him and the rest of the current artists on the label. Kind of sheds a new light on the back side of what goes on there at strange.
I know tech deserves the push of himself but to really let your peers put just as much work into your road shows (where most of your money was coming from) and leave them out, from a friend standpoint thats fucked up. I loved skatt and snug from when they were first on the label and kutt too but am seeing maybe why kutt is not doing touring with them among other things, messed up business shit. I hope travis and tech learn and not continue to be that way....

I am sorry guys but there are ins and outs of business. Friendship and business don't mix. When I am working I don't have friends. It's all business. Someone should remind me what ALL of the artists that have left Strange are doing with their careers now. Let's see.... Skat and Snug...Cognito...Young Bleed (before and after) Lynch (before) Grave Plott, Grant had a dope album but nothing. I will answer that for you....Nothing. Not even the help they were unhappy with with Strange. Tech had 3 of his artists on Sway in the morning today. When is Skatterman gonna be on there next? All you can do is give em some money and put them on a TON of stages and see what their natural ability to gain PAYING fans is. Who else is offering these guys better deals? Nobody because they would already be there.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Krizz, Mayday, Prozak, and Stevie's albums doing fairly well? Considering it's not exactly a major label release, these numbers aren't bad at all for "underground" releases aren't they? You can't honestly tell me they'd be doing any better on any non-major label. I don't know if Skat and/or Snug have put out anything since leaving Strange, but if they have I'd wager to say the sales are down from their work with Strange. Just for comparison's sake, Lynch was the only artist people really knew about on a wide scale before signing with Strange so I'll use his numbers. I'm going off wikipedia so if these numbers are wrong, let me know. Lynch released 11 discs before signing with Strange. His two albums with Strange charted 69 and 68 respectively on the Billboard 200. Only one out of eleven albums have topped that, and you have to go back to 1997 for that (and that's just his solo albums). So is the problem Strange, or is the problem that maybe Skatt and Snug just didn't really do anything particularly interesting musically? Granted, I'm sure they'd so better with Strange today considering how much the label has grown, but maybe I'd be more sympathetic if his music was... better.

Also, Word on tha Streets the best record Strange has dropped? Get the fuck out with that.

I just get the standpoint from skatts point of view. It isnt as much a business standpoint when they sacrificed all the time and effort to tour and get strange known, they should of been treated better with the push of their stuff.
On a side note....

Let's put this to bed. When an artist sits down and negotiates a contract, they discuss money, number of albums, budgets for those albums etc. They didn't have to sign with Strange, they chose to and they knew the details going in. Skatt and Snug had a deal with Strange before Kaliko did, actually way before so from a sacrifice standpoint nobody has more than him and he has never said anything like this. They got support, printed samplers, and ads in major Rap publications. They were on tour constantly, and paid right on time. What more does anybody really this they deserved? I mean if Strange woulda gave em a half million dollar budget do you think they would be superstars?

Skatterman and Snugbrim's music was fucking terrible so the fans didn't buy shit simple as that. Blaming the record label not supporting you enough by flushing away more money on an act thats not clicking with the fans is on some crybaby shit. S&S got waaaay more exposure compared to what they were doing on their own when they got signed, people like myself not from KC was introduced to them and guess what.... nobody liked it. If you really felt under-marketed then go promote yourself.

Can't even lie, I never jammed a single Skat or Snug track more than just peepin' it out. And I peeped out everything they dropped on Strange. When you have a company that's co-owned by a Tech fan, and Tech himself, what the fuck you think is gonna happen? That's the point of having your own label. If they wanted more, they should've put more hustle into MAKing it happen. Tech did.
