"Sisterfire is an Incite project that came out of realizing that the Color of Violence conferences don't reach all women of color. Incite will still keep holding conferences but has decided to use a traveling national cultural arts tour as a way to bring Incite ideas and analysis to women of color on-the-ground, who wouldn't be able to attend these conferences. Sisterfire is mostly interested in reaching poor and working class women of color and young, and/or queer women of color and immigrant and native women of color, those sistas who are most marginalized amongst all women of color. They've partnered up with our organization, The Center for Young Women's Development and we're going to host the San Francisco stop, there will be national poets/artists as well as local"

WE WILL ALSO BE HAVING CANVASES SET UP ALL AROUND THE PARK SO ARTISTS ARE WELCOME TO COME THROUGH AND PUT IT DOWN - THE THEME WILL BE OVERCOMING VIOLENCE AND/OR WOMEN...THE CANVASES WILL BE DONATED TO THE TOUR AND WILL BE BROUGHT TO THE FOLLOWING CITY STOPS: Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, Albuquerque, El Paso, New Orleans, Atlanta, New York, Chicago, & Dakota-Pierre

This system is already racist, and most concerts that are put on with "colored artists" are by White upper class men, who make most of the profit and charge ridiculous amounts to attend (i.e. 50, 60 bucks for a damn ticket) I do not hold anything against white people, but there needs to be a space that is respected and acknowledged for Women of Color.

This is a national tour put on by INCITE which is an organization dedicated to just that. Im sorry if you feel offended by that, but it isn't meant to offend anyone. If you'd like to be the one to organize a White Woman concert be my guest, good luck on that.

and White Devil, i know u are outside with your Mickey Mouse binnaculars and ur boost mobil phone waiting for me, its all good <3
