The people on sicness have a lot of power. We live al over the bay. all love bay music. We could do it like this. We have some artists on here and producers, right. Well, we pick 5 people (we vote on it) and let them be the board. They get to make the decisions. Then those five people pick a album to support every month (If its no good ones, WE DONT HAVE TO HAVE ONE that month).

We put everybody in one of two buying groups that buys records. So one month its one group turn, the other month its the next group turn. When its your month, you gotta buy the record and call at least one radio station and request this shit.

Man, cats would sell 1000 records real quick, stores would take em seriously. Radio stations would pay attention and play shit. They dont even get that many requests. We could runt hings out here. We could have power and influence in this rap game, see, once the stores take you seriously and the radio is playinyour shit... you got a good start. You can make it. You could also thank sicness for the love.

Very easy to do. Nobody could pay us off with bullshit. But we would have to be real about it. If you dont get selected that month, dont become a bitch, just mke better shit.Pick people that aren't connected to a label. None of these CEO/ artist/producer/Distributor/Manager mufucas. Just real niggas.

We could do that. Then people could shut the fuc up tryin to promote theri wack ass album. If I hear another nigga say his shit is fire and then find out it is average at best.... MAN. And, I see artists that need the support and makin good shit gettin NO love. None. Its ridiculous. Man, we could dictate the way the industry goes out here.

For example: We could all go to Best Buy and say, look. We got 5,000 people and at least 1,000 will buy from your stores once a month. You gotta carry our artsts... and the price has to be XYZ.
They'd do it in a heartbeat. Or any other song. They'd also have to give our members discounts ontheri products (like a discount card).

One of the artists, no I guess he is more like manager, I really dont know what the fuck he is.... but we emailed back and forth about some shit and he had this idea and broke it all down. Smart mufuca. Didn't want me to mention his name so i wont. But thing is, it seems doable. Doin this would get us promos sent in from every label you could imagine. He said we prolly would get a lot of shit coming our way to get us to buy their product, but we'd lose our way if we acepted too much shit like that. Just people on BART. When we voted the five people to be on the board, they would have to campaing (nominations) and they would have to be honest about what kind of shit they likes. They would stop hollerin that bullshit, and get real. Plus, we could rotate the board. If you weren't picked, then maybe you could do it for 4 months at a time.

Potna also told me how Rasputins in Berkeley hated on their shit. They took it, but they fucked them on the placement (lied to him) and didn't even put em on the new release rack (that should be a thread right there, that's fucked up). But I bet you our shit would get prime placement inthese places. No more burying our shit in the back racks.

Now, having said all this. I am not good organizer. I buy. Feel me. I dont want to be on a board cuz most of this stuff is so weak I'd never pick shit. homie said that you cut down on -he had a word for it, a ism- if you just say whoever is onthe board can't have nobody from their camp selected for 4 months. That would keep they monkey asses from jumpin up and down over their own shit.

Like I said, it would take some people to get it started that we pretty much all respect/trust. Who have delivered when they said they were gonna do something - they did it. Wh actually showed their face and supported when they said they would support. But more than that, whose good at organizing and shit. I know a cuple people, but they prolly dont wanna do it. Its too bad, though, cuz they could hold this bay in their hand.

Dude who told me all this and explained the way he sees it... he should be the one to break it down.

He also said we can make the price 12.99 and then sicness members get it for 9.10 so with tax it is a even 10 dollars. The thing is that the store is cool with it becuase we tellin THEM what to do.

I said all thatbecuase it needed to be sai. everybody talkin about how raw them backpack cats are, well they are not gonna get support unless we support em. If they shit is cool, we could jump start their careers. I haven't heard AWAX and all these guys, but they could get the support they need. Plus, it would FORCE them to come correct witht heir shit. If it is not game-tight, well done shit.... it wont make it. They couldn't cut corners or expenses. Feel me. Ice Cold Heat ... that album is the truth. But niggas onhere dont know abou tit, if we had this shit poppin, that would never happen.

I know its somepeopleo nhere from Sac and the NW, and all over, you can buy shit fromt he itnernet, too. Plus, every now and then you have one from a different region. Start with Bay rea rap cuz that the biggest greoup, but later on you include rappers from other regions. Its fucked up, but you gotta start somewhere

Last this is this, you could rotate the people onthe board every 4 - 6 months just so nobody gets TOO comfortable. You can't send in anything to them except the disc, no gifts, no money, no flyers, just a letter explaining who and what it is, and howto get in touch with you if they pick it.

sounds like a good idea. but the only thing is i hear more people on here talkin bout all this shit that is tight and when i hear it it makes me want to get tha karaoke out again...

i just don't think that much GOOD shit comes out every month. maybe every 4-6 months. but not every month. there will be too much bullshit getting graded if this gets done every month. IMO

You got a good point. The Siccness has a lot more to it then people think. This is a repost on my part, but I was saying that having at least 3,000 folks in the bay means you have 3,000 people plus probly 10,000 more at least who bump bay area rap. And the great thing is that we hear most albums in advance threw n-ridaz or mirc or snippets on the net, so we know whats good and can tell folks but thats about as far as it goes.

I dont think anyone on here wants to hear that they have an obligation to buy a cd because everyones entitled to their own opinion. I thought E-40s last album was bad but half the Siccness loved it.
