how many of you people are voting for obama just because he's ethnic? do any of you follow policy? I'm just curious, I've seen people say they owe it to their ancestors to vote for him, but that doesn't make sense to me. Why didn't you lobby for Al Sharpton when he tried to run in 2004? Or the other black woman that ran then as well? Is it just because he is a serious candidate who happens to be black, or do most of you actually understand his policy?

Don't get your panties in a bunch if this doesn't apply to you. I only ask because I've seen shit floating around here and he is obviously the favorite on this board.
I feel the same way... people are voting because he's black and he has a real outgoing personality. He's only served 2 years as a state senator, I'm all for change but I'd rather have someone with more experience, which is why I voted for Hilary.

I know what you mean. Obama is my no. 2, which some might find strange since Ron paul is my no 1. However, this has to do with the fact that I feel we need someone who understands the economy to lead us right now in addition to preserving the constitutional integrity of our nation. Ron Paul is against the Real ID and Patriot ACT which are both thinly veiled methods to invade citizens privacy under the guise of looking out for terrorism. If Bush has his way he will do what clinton did (in a sense) and try to pass a bunch of bills before he leaves office. I think these will more likely be about giving the goverment more power over the people, instead of protecting the environment (what Clinton did). Ron Paul is pretty far out there, but if you look past some of the fanaticism that surrounds him and listen to what he's saying you might find it makes sense. Out of the republican candidates he is by far the best choice.
