I've held my tongue for too long. i'm sick and tired of the ppl bashing JT on this board. he is a a bay area legend a bay area rap icon. u guys should show him more respect in his presence. He is a bay are independent rap pioneer. If u didn't like a cd u bought then be careful when u buy another cd. Don't go and tell him you don't like his music anymore and that he lied to fans. HE gave yall a reason why he did wut he did and suffice to say a lot of u guys are not happy. thats on u. Y are some of u complaining that his CEO manuel cost 100 bucks? fuck that is a bargain to me! If i wuz tryna get into the industry independently I would buy his manuel and read all his secrets and the knowledge he puts in on the manuel. It would be the bible for all industry cats tryna come up you know! Fuck I'd buy it for 500 bucks. Thats how much it is worth. $100 bucks is a bargain and not a big price to pay for all the knowledge and inside secrets JT gives us in the manuel. Ok i'm outta space to type

I'd want to read his manuel just to learn about the industry and how this legend did it. He should charge big bucks for it for the wealth of information he provides for yall. He doin a big service. I have many GLP albums and the only one I didn't like wuz the Street Wars one with Noble. It didn't have enough JT rapping and too many nobodies like these cats I neva fuckin heard of with no talent like Blaque or somebody and some other no bodies. But 99% of his cds are tight. Its a privlege that we get to have him on the board to discuss rap music. Once again he is a fuckin rap pioneer he been hustlin since you fools were in diapers. Ok I'm out.

What the Mastermind just said is like saying Jeff Garcia is a 49ers legend and Guy Benjamin is a 49ers legend and not including Joe Montana. JT is the Joe MOntana the Steve Young of the rap game out here in the Bay.

no, being famous does NOT make you a legend.

based on your logic, Vanilla Ice is a Rap Legend.

JT is a legend because he put the Fillmoe on the rap map, and the neighborhood is still flourishing because of him. Him and his label opened up the doors. It's his CONTRIBUTION TO THE EARLY STAGES OF BAY AREA HIP HOP THAT MADE HIM A BAY AREA LEGEND. Stop P.H.in' already....

J.T. the bigga figga is a bay legend period. I guess he never heard Playaz in da game or the first Get Low Playaz. That's like saying C-BO is not a Sac legend.

dru down?? how bout rbl, (mr. cee and black c), b-legit. where the fuck did all this slang come from that's being used all across america. if it didn't come out of e-40's mouth then it either came from JT or San Quinn or Messy Marv. Memph bleek basically named his record company after a frisco thing "the get low" and jt's own company. now there's two get low record companies. Game Recognize Game!!!!! i usually don't agree with truazn but stop hatin on jt.

It's just a matter of opinion. Nobody is right, nobody is wrong.

In my opinion JT should be considered a bay area legend but that's different than saying his current work is/will be of that status.
JT was one of the best in the bay scene for a long time. But I have a hard time hearing the same consistantcy, time, patience, perfection & quality in his material now a days....things can always change. I'll always remain an admirer but choose to stear clear right now.
Some people love the new JT....I've given it a chance but it's not me. I wish the man the best and I'm sure he understands what I'm trying to express. Personally, I think most the music he's makin now sounds too cluttered and amped but that's just a different style I guess. This is just my opinion.

Anybody else have a reason?

I think JT and The Gamblaz' "Know About It", Authentic's Solo, D-Moe's "Ghost Writer" and JT's "Hustle Relentless" have the best chance of someday achieving classic status, as far as Get Low's more recent material goes. These are the recent GET LOW CDs that I would consider "standouts" among the compilations and collabs that didn't quite make it...what do others here think? (not saying they WILL be considered classics--just that they have the best chance out of all the most recent Get Low stuff).

But you can't always call a CD a "classic" when it's only been out a year--you have to wait and hear how it sounds two or three years down the road. If these still sound dope three or four years from now, who knows...but PROJECT POETRY is certainly the best technical rapping performance from JT in awhile, because he sounds like he's rapping from his heart and not his wallet (and the production is clean too). PEACE!
