Y'all pay attention... this is real spit right here. thascary 1 you seen what AJ Smith (San Diego Chargers GM) had to say right? After seeing Russell's pro day, AJ Smith said he hopes they don't have to face him the next 12 years... because we're in the same division and that means they would have to face him and that arm twice a year. AJ is just keepin' it real.

AJ Smith is probably the best GM in the NFL. He has an eye for talent (Hence: Rivers, LT, Gates, Merriman)

I THINK AJ SMITH HAS AN ULTERIOR MOTIVE IN MAKING THOSE COMMENTS...

I agree.

I can't see the Chargers' GM hyping up a player that a team in his division might get unless he has some sort of trick up his sleeve. He might have seen some flaws in Russell's game that he knows his squad can expose and he might be hyping him up so the raiders will get suckered into drafting him. I just can't see a team basically encouraging a rival team to draft somebody they wouldn't wanna face. Especially since the Chargers have absolutely no interest in Russell.. So why would he even take the time to make a real evaluation of the guy's talents?

^Exactly! He drafted Eli (who didn't want to be a Charger anyway) and traded him for Rivers and an extra pick that turned out to be Merriman.

Good point.

People have to remember, the NFL, like EVERY profiessional sport...is a BUSINESS first. This means that each team is making moves to THEIR best interest in MAKING money. You think people on Wal Street are just handing out advice to one another on how to make big bucks? FUCK NO. Lots of shday shit goes down in that profession...SAME goes for pro sports. No owner is loyal. They want a fat paycheck.

^ Russel will make more of an impact than Mario Williams ... w/o a doubt.. Russel and Johnson will both be stars in this league.. But I guess Raiders should go with the biggest need and take a chance on Russel since they have a pretty solid WR core if Moss gets on board

they have allways had a good amount of talent...people seem to blame it on there offense line just like they are the raiders this year....david carr was the problem and he kept them from winning.....

Booyow! Yep... we need to fill our biggest need with that first overall pick in the draft. If Moss wasn't on board then I could understand the strong case being made about drafting Johnson. But I think we have a good group of receivers in Moss (if he's on board), Porter, and Curry.

We need a gun slinger!

That's what I was trying to tell some of these cats. David has to take some of the blame for that franchise losing too...

Johnson (the Texans receiver) said that Carr was used to throwing to certain spots. When it was time for him to actually read defenses, he stuggled.... that's probably why he passed for negative yardage against the Raiders. Bad as we were last year I don't remember us passing for negative yardage.

When Kubiak found out he couldn't fix Carr you see what happened right? Out goes that used Carr and in comes a brand new Shaub.
