WHAT EXACTLY YALL WANT FROM THE BAY?? IF YALL WANT CALI TO RUN THIS RAP SHIT THEN THE BAY WOULD HAVE TO SACRIFICE MOST OF THE MOB-STYLE MUSIC AND SHOOT EM UP BANG BANG SHIT... I KNOW I WOULD HATE TO SEE GUCE OR KILLA TAY HAVING TO START DANCIN LIKE CHINGY INNA VIDEO JUST TO BE ACCEPTED... BUT BUT IF YALL WANT THE BAY SOUND TO CONTINUE THE WAY IT IS THEN INDEPENDENT YALL SHOULD STAY... PEOPLE SAID THE GAME WAS GOING BRING THE WEST BACK BUT 50 ALREADY FUCKED GAME'S CAREER UP SO COUNT HIM OUT... I THINK IF THE BAY & LA HOOKED UP AGAIN MAYBE YALL CAN TAKE THE MAINSTREAM BY STORM ONCE AGAIN...

if the Bay did go mainstream right now the rappers who are on some mob shit probably wouldnt be the ones blowing up

HYPHY is what is popular right now... so the rappers who are on some hyphy shit would probably be the ones who go big... and they probably would be dancin around in their videos (maybe not like Chingy... but they'd be goin dumb)

The hyphy thing is the weakest attempt of trying to gain exposure that I have seen in awhile. So I'm guessin kats will do about anything to go mainstream, with any knockoff "Crunk" idea. The Killa Tay's,JT's,Quinns will always be there for true underground aka street music fans.

be careful wut u wish for

if the bay does indeed go mainstream then theyre prone to get all the bad that comes with it. ie muthafuckas actin like they know wusup when they dont, square bear journalists giving summarys of our lifestyle for the TRL audience, white kids in the burbs across the country (not jus northern cali) actin like they down with our shit. i mean, if u guys get upset over juelz sayin stooey and shit then ur all gonna be HEATED when the whole country is actin like they from the bay without knowin shit about how we really get down. yadada?

2 words for all ya'll "Young Jeezy". I know that nigga got trashy flow but he a straight up "hood nigga" and yet still blowin' up the mainstream. He didnt change his style one bit just to blow up. Just listen to his whole album, all he talks about is drugs and stackin' papers. He doesnt have a single song for the ladies at all on his album. If he can do that so can Rydah, San Quinn, Ya Boy, etc. If you get good and proper push from your label you will blow up no matter what type of music you make, mob or hyphy.

i think the problem is when u think mainstream u think of, MTV, TRL, BET.. and what do they all have in common?? there geographical location.. if the bay could unite, put some tight tv shows out that showcase bay music, then it would definately re-define "mainstream" and give the east coast a run for its money..

Not until 106 and park and MTV has bay artist true.Fuck it i think its kinda coo we aint on these stations anyways i think the whole USA knows that we have our own movement. You can check and look on big file sharing systems what songs are being downloaded alot (BAY UNDERGROUND TRACKS) even all the early 90-98 shit from the bay is downloaded the most, plus alotta newer cats. You can go to folks MYSPACE and see tons of people that respect the bay and say thats all they listen to is bay shit and half of them are from WISCONSIN to SEATTLE to DENVER to MICHIGAN to the BRONX it's a big movement we got here and YES is underground but LOYAL and staying LOYAL is the key.And LOYALTY my friends is always there.Wonder if the bay ever blows up again like it did in the early stages of RAP hurt us once again,Not knockin the SOUTH CRUNK MOVEMENT but once there time is done the soil will be dry like what happen to us in the early stages when we were blown up and every MAJOR LABLE was out here signing the 40's Short's RBL's etc. Because right now i think were doing as good as we can and got A BAY FANBASE WORLDWIDE independent style and once these MAJORS start knowing your moving units they want in!! Dont sell out for change!!! Make Millionz!!!Trust me they got it and will pay it if they want you!!Until then stay on the grind,i've been on it for over 10 years and im satisfied with over 16 titles out and over hundreds of hundreds and thousands sold! DJ KING ASSASSIN HAS SPOKEN!

nah..i dont think they should go mainstream.Only cause they will end up being like 50 cent and the game. Then you'll have cats talking shit about the bay the same way they talk shit about 50 cent and the game.People from the underground wont have respect for bay cats anymore.

Too Sheezy has been mainstream for like 20 years and still is. Gotta add E-40 & the Click, Spice-1, RBL, JT the Bigga Figga, Rappin 4-Tay etc.

I still remember seeing 4-Tay on Yo MTV Raps, yadidiwow!

Maybe 10 years ago but none of those cats have been TV in hella long besides E-40. They bay had their chance and it faded away but so did Houston and they came back so we can too. The bay has been trying to get back into that mainstream limelight again for the past couple of years but its not working. Not even our tightest artists can break 50K in their own town, that shit sucks and I blame the fans. The bay got alot of talent but if cats just sit around downloading your favorite bay rappers shit the majors are never gonna know what kind of waves they are actually making out here cuz their soundscans are hella weak. I think the bay should stick to the stuff their doing wether its mob music or hyphy music because all of it represents our bay style hip hop culture and if we tried to act like omething we aren't people would know it in a heartbeat. I say the bay stays independant and for its fans to get off their lazy asses and quit pressing download and buy some fuckin records because thats the only way the bay will ever blow again.

Yo, when I named all those artists, I was talkin bout the Bay's mainstream artists 10 years ago.

But I agree, too many fuckers in the Bay talk about supporting, but they never buy albums.
