DON't Get me wrong, I have NEVER bought a cd online or Downloaded a song or album legally or illegally. I always buy the CD! Put yourself in the artist shoes...If you were a rapper would you want folks to buy your CD? Then buy theirs! If you aint feeling them, don't buy it!!!!
why pay for the CD itself...the case, the paper back cover piece, the booklet, and the music?

give me the music and the just the cover artwork, save that extra $5-7.

I got a album im bout to put out and was seriously thinking of just selling the album online because it seems to be alot cheaper because once the artwork for your album is done your basically ready to put it online and begin selling your product, being that the mixing and mastering is finished already. Another reason for me to want to go digital is because if I spend the money to get my album pressed up and then dont sell like i thought i would for whatever reason you can think of, then i lose off top, but if i go digital i feel like i have a better chance of making a profit. Just my thought on the matter!

^ you arent helpin people by tellin them to kill themselves if they cant afford a computer.

there are some people out there who really have no way of affording a computer, or who never find a need to use one.

I dont say go completely digital right now.. Im saying there should be a bigger emphasis in selling digital downloads in addition to CD's. Just like back when CD's werent as big, people's use of technology evolved to needing CD's so in the future, more people will have computers especially with those walmart prices

I gues the need or want has to be there...but haven't you seen them Blue Hippo commercials...Name brand pc with only a checking account?? Their very affordable..and unless you have no job you can afford a pc now a days...

Digital is the way to go no a days...it's like out the trunk but you in every city in the world....and the cost and overhead is waaaay cheaper...

i'm not arguing against the fact that digital is the way to go, i'm just saying there are still lots of people out there who aren't digital yet, becuase they can't afford it or don't see a reason to be digital.

Computers will only get cheaper. Remember when cells phone first came out, only the ballers had them. Now even bums have them. Well that is slowly happening with computers.

thats why niggaz out here need to take it back to real hip hop days! Forget the major, forget the a & r's! just all these cats who really say they are from the hood hit every single block in the hood doing block partys with cds for sale 10 or 8 bucks, settin up posters. Do this in every city and every hood in the bay! if cats really be in the hood, i know they can get some ghetto passes from the hood niggaz to do shows or whatever. but cats really need to take it back to the streets and leave the MAN who controls the shit outta there. He aint comin to the hood. Lets say a rapper is from VAllejo, the Hill side and he promotes a hood function, in a park or something and gets 1000 cats there, sells them cds for 8-10$ a pop thats $10,000 in his pocket tax free. Take it to the crest do the same thing, take it to fairfield, then the rich and so on thats really independent, theres no need to put any songs on the internet or the radio or even t.v cause thats where bootleggin comes about so u x-in out the middle man...all profit
