OR SHOULD THE ARTIST FIND A WAY TO GET MONEY OFF THEY ALBUM ANY WAY THEY CAN???? SINCE IT DIDNT WORK THE FIRST TIME???

AT WHAT POINT SHOULD AN ARTIST RELIZE THAT ITS TIME TO BECOME A CEO?

SHOULD A CEO LET HIS ARTIST MAKE BUSINESS MOVES OUT SIDE THE COMPANY??

CAN A ARTIST AND CEO WORK TOGETHER AND GET MONEY EQUALLY OFF OF A PROJECT?????

IF A CEO SPENDS LOOT ON A PROJECT SHOULD HE GET HIS LOOT BACK FIRST OR SHOULD MORE MONEY BE SPENT ON THE PROJECT??/

aint selling u aint gett paid in paper but in fame and recognition you getting paid so take that and run with it and make sum side change build the catalog and when the third album drops they gonna want that first one that didnt sell.......keep yo head up and work for your money, fuck the free hand outs.....grown men trying ta act lke they need a sugga daddy.......fuck that aint getting paid!
CEO spends $10,000 on a album and gives artist 100 units , artist gets bout $400 off those cuz he gave alot away.....so artits made $400 so far and CEO got $5000 back from the original $10,000 but he still -$5,000 and artist is $400 up but artist talking bout i sold sum gimme sum money?......like i said aint selling, aint getting paid!

we all know you do sell you dont get paid

but you can do verses and get that bread until your shit sell

yes a artist and a ceo can work together too get paid of a project..

and i think a artist should be able too do side work as long as it dont fuck up his work with the label...like shows in stores ect...

shit a artist might come across something new when he fucks with diffrent cats that he can bring back too the label and make shit pop even more....

just my 2 cents

its nothing wrong wit coming to people for help, that was some personal shit and it got solved, but that was the only way to clear it up wit out saying a word, the only people that could have been mad was someone who directly spoke on family business.

and the questions are for opinions from the public.
i have an on going poll going on with a certain someone of importance reading every post. and as the days progress we make our deals acording to the forcast of opinion. not just the board other ways also.

my rap mission statement

JT.....I think that the CEO and the artist should set out goals. The CEO should pay the artist UP FRONT...and agreeable amount no matter how many units sell. I feel that the CEO's responsibility is to make money. He should have the experience outside the box that the artist maybe isnt schooled on. Lets face it, artists are going in blind to a certain extent. So the CEO should believe in the artist, and give the artist their due.

Second, after that agreement there should be some form of regulation as far as if the album exceeds expectaions. If it doesnt, well at least the artist got something up front. If the album does better, then the CEO sure ass hell better involve the artist with the bread hes getting.

THird,....I know that most of us do not know the ins and outs of the record game. But I own my own business and can relate as far as paying up front with no guarantee of success. But thats what doing your own thing equates to....taking chances....

Business is Business....A CEO should help promote his artist to the best of his ability...even if he dosent get paid up front they should at least set themselves up for payment on the comeback...make tha artist, (the one with the talent which you believe in) happy

okay

Okay....think about a young prospect in the minor leagues...he at least gets some sort of signing bonus, whether he does well or not. It merely is a way for the organization to say we have faith you will do well. It is not a lot of money, but it is only a form of saying you are down with us.....I am not saying give the guy a fuckin big load of money.

I say that the money should boil down to the state of your label. If your doing well with other artists, give em something. If your just starting out, different story.

Either way like I said the artist does have some responsibility to learn the game but were all kidding ourselves if we think they know what the fuck is going on from the gates.

I guess if you bought JT's manual (PLUG)...you may not get fucked

Yeah, nobody is gonna be paid upfront except the big heads already. The CEO's job is to put the artist in the best position possible to have good recordings, a quality looking project, and a majority of the marketing of the project handled which will get the artist's name out there and have people looking to buy the record..

without the proper marketing, your project could be the hottest thing out there and not reach anybody... it's 92% more to it than just music.

DO IT YA SELF. STOP RELYING ON OTHERS. IF YOU GET GAFFLED OR DONT GET PAYED, LEGIT OR NOT, ITS YOUR FAULT. RAPPERS NEED TO WAKE UP AND REALIZE IT.

I think an artist should get a signing bonus. making albums is hard work (if you puttin out some quality shit, not just throwin anything out there) Making albums takes up alot of time. So that lil "advance" can help the artist with his living expenses. Especially if cuz aint working, being in a studio is takin him away from his huslte in the streets. If he does work, you still puttin alot of time towards your album, and might miss work or have to go to another city and record, etc... all this should be paid by the record company IMO. Gas money, food, etc... whatever you need when you at the studio, traveling expenses etc.. You dont take care of your artist somewhat, prepare to get a half-assed album

it dosent take 6 months to make and promote an album though.

reality is, if you dont do everything ya self, you never know what gonna happen.

there are very few labels that will put money up front. i would never put anything into an artist till i heard the final product. you gotta prove ya self and make ya product worth my time before ill even think about breakin bread.

^ If your a CEO of a company, you should have already done your homework on YOUR artist that YOU signed. Fuck all that gettin paid AFTER the fact. If the artist wasn't worth of making a quality album then YOU shouldn't have signed him/her
