San Jose Sharks Unveil New, Intimidating Team Logo
(CBS 5) SAN JOSE The look of the San Jose Sharks was given an upgrade Tuesday when a new logo was unveiled by team management.
The new logo replaces the one used since the team’s inception in 1991.
The updated logo incorporates more Pacific Teal, the primary color of the Sharks, and team officials said it projected a "more intimidating" image -- emphasizing speed, strength and determination.
The designer of the original Sharks logo, Terry Smith, created the new one over an 18-month period.
“We put a lot of research into this and feel the fans will thoroughly appreciate the updated logo,” said Sharks President and CEO Greg Jamison.
“The players were heavily involved in the process and they are extremely happy with the outcome,” he added.
