I don't think shadow is better then e-40 but I also don't think e-40 is better then shadow. two different ass rappers. One is hyphy and another is gangsta. hyphy is wack in my book so of course i rather listen to gangsta shit, reason why i like Shadow more. e-40's old shit is dope though. His new shit is extremely weak.

Do you really classify 40 as a hyphy rapper? Out of all the music he makes, he only has one "hyphy" album, and that shit gave the Bay Area attention that it hasn't had in years. "Ball Street Journal" wasn't a hyphy album IMO. "Poor Man's Hydroulics" was the only go dumb type of song.

But fuck it, I think he's better than Kobe Bryant, he does 360 alley-oops to himself from the free throw line. I mean dude hasn't played college hoops let alone in the pros but that still don't mean he is not the best in the state. Who cares if he doesn't have NBA championships, MVP awards and millions of dollars. He can probably smoke anyone on the court pro or amateur.

shit like that happens all the time.just because somebody was able to make a living off of it doesn't mean he is better. what if the person that didn't get the chance to prove himself did have the chance ? we don't know what would happen right ? so at the end of the day the only answer remaining is "?????"

Because of the success of "Tell Me When 2 Go," MTV brought "My Block: The Bay." How the hell is all of that not attention for the Bay. If it wasn't for 40 going the hyphy route on that album none of that shit would have happened.

And I'm not comparing 40 and Shadow, I'm saying 40 isn't a "hyphy" rapper like you said he was.

No, my analogy is pretty on point. My comparison deals with tangible evidence. Accomplishments, a huge fanbase, albums, tours, things have have some sort of substance, my opinions are purely supplemental. E-40 has never been on some Souljah Boy gimmick type shit, nor has his albums ever had major marketing dollars put into them. His skills sell records.

What does this post have to do with anything I said? What does 40 in the 90's have anything to do with "My Ghetto Report Card" and the Hyphy Movement? MGRC and the hyphy movement is what brought the Bay Area attention. Not 40's past. I think we all agree that 40 completely changed his style from Mobb music to Hyphy music during that time, so obviously he did not bring attention to the Bay solely because of "his time in the game."
