that was the single..wut did u expect?...some gangster shit...e-40 is real..he stays true to where he's from..he helps out as much artist as he can out the bay...besides u and dat u dont hear too much bubble gum shit on an e-40 album...and he aint clamin to be hyphy he's simply attemtping to bring some light on the new cats that part of the movment...whether he's been succesful or not he still tried
I prefer hearing Tech N9ne talking about how he struggles to get by or P.O.S. saying it don't take mils to eat meals or Slug say "Lead single, shit was looking good/But thirty days later the LP went wood"

Nelly is not a sell-out because he is who he is and he doesnt try to be anyone else...If he tried to all of a sudden be gangsta and start talking about selling drugs, then IMO he would be a sell-out(selling out himself)..
Some fans have it twisted..just because a person makes party music and talk about jewelry doesnt mean they are sell-out..Just because a person who talks about "thug" livin doesnt mean they are "keeping it real"...Keeping it real depends on the person and who they are...If Kanye West all of a sudden was banging or talking about mob life, he would be considered one of the fakest niggas ever....Do you, and fans need to realize just because you dont feel their music or their content doesnt mean they are selling-out..
Not everybody can be the hardest nigga alive...every type of music has it's purpose...
i swear underground fans are so damn fickle, its like you can't do anything to make money or you're considered a sell out. here's the real question, is common a sell out? I mean he's in commercials for coke & gap and shit like that, but is that selling out? what about ludacris? he goes from slanging tapes out his trunk to slanging shit on commercials, but did he change himself & sellout?

I can only speak for myself...I personally wouldnt call Common a sell-out but I know some ignorant punks would...If I was a well known artists or entertainer, I personally couldnt/wouldnt want to endorse anything that I dont wear myself...But that is only because I am BIG on how I represent myself and how I want to be portrayed..
For example, I could never wear a NY hat or any hat that doesnt rep Cali or Chicago because I am from those places...For 1 I would feel too trendy and 2 I dont have anything to do with NY..I have never been to NY and I dont rep any pro teams in NY, so me wearing a hate doesnt represent me IMO...This is something SMALL, but it's something that I do...I dont hate on anyone else who doesnt operate like that..Another thing is, there has been many G-Unit clothes that I thought were tight but I couldnt buy it because G-Unit doesnt represent me...I dont listen to G-Unit and Im not necessarily a fan of their movement so me repping them in public would be a false representation of me IMO..I dont hate them niggaz or hate on them though..
I guess im kind of petty because I no longer operate in "if I like it I like it"..I feel it's important to represent yourself correctly...If Common wears Gap and drinks Coke, then that is even better for him because he is still ACCURATELY representing himself...I also understand that in hip hop cultural it's a bigger deal which is sad because hip hop became corporate long ago but some people refuse to believe it...
At the end of the day, I say live your OWN life..Life is too short to please niggaz or be worrying about what niggaz think of you...I dont think Common is a sell-out because I dont think he is selling out himself...
Fans limit certain artists so when they do something outside of that fans image of them, they will consider that artist a sell-out..for example, it's kind of hard to lable Busta Rhymes a sell-out because he has always done all types of music and has always been the artist/man that he is...he never limited himself as a rapper which is why he is able to do whatever he wants and nobody says he's a sell-out..
