True..some Genetics academic journal did some genetic study and found that the myth of People in Southern Italy and Spain having a bunch of Arab ancestry is wayyyy overblown and it is true for certain villages or provinces but not the country as a whole...the exception..not the rule...like you said.

Their is kind of a difference between North and South Italy's ancestry..but it's not from the Moors, or North Africa...the South is more descendant of Greek settlers and the North Celtic and Germanic...but there is Germanic in the South too...the Normans(descendants of Vikings) are a good example...they held shit down down there..and for way longer than the Moors ever did, Lombards are another example...My moms must be from that since she is Italian, family from the South, and they all have/had fair hair, eyes, and skin...not the typical Southern Italian, lol.

TRUTH! My grandparents were Northern Italian, but they had the olive complexion. My mom has some of the fairest skin I've seen, and I inherited that.

Then I have my Sicilian boys. Some of them look and are mistaken for Mexican, some of them are light with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. All kinds of factors come into play...location, background, etc. etc.

I didn't push anything on anybody for centuries, so there's no need to push it back on me. If your great-grandfather shot my great-grandfather, would I have the right to blow your face off? I'm with you on all those points. People need to speak up or nothing will ever change. It's especially bad these days because everybody thinks that signing an e-mail will change everything. And of course we've had an uneven playing field in this country for centuries. The only thing that has changed is that people from different backgrounds are now on the shit-end of the stick. I think that's where a lot of people from our generation found common ground and started to kind of break down the barriers.

Our race relations are terrible...and many folks who want equality have their own biases that prevent it. It's damn sad.
