Man, this is some bullshit. This guy is nowhere near as intelligent as he makes himself out to be. By arguing that the ability to use the word in a socially acceptable way lies in the color of one's skin is ridiculous. Just like if I said the ability to drive a Cadillac is something only white people should have because a white man started the company. It's racist because it posits that people of different races are inherently different not because of obvious physical features but because of mental and social characteristics as well, and we should have different roles in society and different ideas of what's socially acceptable for us to do because we are of different races. Not only does this kind of thinking enhance our differences, it also creates new boundaries among us. So much for trying to live in and/or strive for an equal and free society.

That said, I don't use the word.

LMAO! I had this discussion with my little bitch ass cousin when he came home from prison. Droppin' the 'N' bomb on me 'cause I told him sex offenders get no love in prison or in the city I'm from. Next thing I knew I was getting threats from him...'N' this, 'N' that..."the black folks vouched for me and had my back in prison"...yada yada yada.

I used to kinda give folks the benefit of the doubt when they said the word...but since that lovely conversation, I think any white dude who drops it is a faggot. Of course, I associate the word with a sex offending bitch who thinks he became a crip in prison.

I see his point, but he sounds like an idiot in some of this video. He says black folks are the most emulated people. What about the black folks who emulate the mafia? What about black folks who used to rock Hilfiger? Or drive Benz's? What about Football, basketball, and baseball? Those are 3 sports created by white folks...but nobody tells black folks they are trying to be white because they studied the sports and became good at something they did not create.

I eat sweet potato pie, collard greens, and fried chicken. Am I trying to be black? Or do I just LOVE southern cuisine because I was introduced to it at a young age?

Just an observation. To say white people emulate black folks in every way is just ridiculous. Because hip-hop culture is popular? You grow up in a certain area, you're going to adapt to that area's ways...period. It's not because you're trying to EMULATE somebody...it's because that's how it is in your region. Dude has almost an arrogant stance.

This video could have been done in two seconds. "You aren't black, don't say it." He didn't have to take a "holier than thou...everybody steals our #swag" stance.

This is exactly why blacks don't move forward. Spend way too much time on the bullshit. Patrolling the world to see what non-black person is saying "nigga." There are way better things to focus on than to see whose saying "nigga" so you can accuse them of being racist. Especially when blacks say it themselves, which makes it a contradiction. If blacks focused on finding opportunities and advancement as hard as they focus on trying to find something to accuse someone of being racist, then blacks could probably run the world.

What defines a culture? Is it your skin color? A lot of people in this thread seem hella confused about the concept of race and culture.

White folks aren't emulating black people, they are emulating a culture - clothes, language, music, etc.

There are many different black folks that come from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. Just saying.

I personally try not to use the word because I know my grandparents, etc. dont give a flying f--k if you have changed the ER with an A..its still offensive to them.... I also dont really buy the "we changed the meaning of the word so now its positive"..its too much of an issue and there are hundreds of other words that could also be used to have the same meaning...I never did understand why non-blacks even wanted to use it....Maybe it was the hip hop influence IDK..

Either way, if you're black and on some "this is our word" s--t then you also need a different perspective as well...your ancestors probably wouldnt even vouch for you using it either, especially considering how close it was to the ER word....if you want to promote something and associate it with your people, is "NIGGA" the best you could do?...

At the end of the day its a personal choice but others might not feel the same and they have that right...Carry on...

I agree use of nigga should not be used but I disagree that the use of it means you necessarily emulate the black man, Some individuals may? some say it to fit in and be accepted... Its like if a black man who normally talks hood changes his voice in a job interview to be accepted for that job...dont mean he emulates the white man...
