NO ITS NOT, REMEMBER 1992?...........2-14............
I was only 8 but remember that. Beat the Broncos on MNF and the Patriots (giving them the pick that netted Bledsoe while we were stuck at #2 with Mirer). And Cortez Kennedy was named NFL Defensive Player of the year on a 2-14 team : AMAZING. He was dominant and a joy to watch.

But he was talking about the whole Seattle sports scene. In 1992 Washington was playing in a Rose Bowl (lost to Michigan) but was only 1 year removed from winning a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. Mariners sucked (got the #1 pick that they used on Alex Rodriguez), Sonics went to the Western Conference finals and took an outstanding Phoenix Suns team to 7 games. UW Basketball sucked.

But think about that right there, I think we'd all be ecstatic if we could flash it back to 1992. 2008 in Seattle is the worst year in sports for any city of all time. I have not done the spreadsheet to prove it, but I am very confident that it will not only boast the lowest equally weighted winning percentage among 5 team (pro and major college) cities but on top of that a team MOVED.

It does not get any worse for a year in one city. Seattle has been through an absolutely beyond belief bad year in sports.

I still had some hope pending the result of the MNF game, but the 49ers and their retarded ass decision to run on 2nd down (rather than throw twice and THEN run on 4th down if they still hadn't scored, they would've had 3 plays to score instead of just two) fucked it up. Had they won, the Hawks would've been 3 back of AZ w/ 2 games against them on the schedule. That was possible. Now they're 4 back, have to beat AZ twice and then gain 2 games on them in the other 5 games remaining on the schedule (maybe a 4-1 to their 2-3?). Very unlikely. I'm pissed off about this.

Fuck the 49ers and the Cowboys for blowing games in AZ.

You also need to factor in number of seasons vs championships
Number of seasons vs playoff appearances/playoff wins

Exactly. I do have that spreadsheet on hand (did it last winter), and based on that at the time, Cleveland was the #1 most long suffering sports city in America, Seattle was #2 and Philadelphia was #3. San Diego was lurking as well but I classified them differently b/c they're only a 2 team city.

Flash forward a year, Philadelphia is obviously off the list, leaving Cleveland as still the #1, but now Seattle has not only maintained its place as #2 but lost a team, dropping it to the level of San Diego for future comparisons.

Damn Hassel really fucked u guys up! After Ladell Betts fumbled I started trippin..... Then Hasselbeck threw the pick on the 1st pass to Springs I started to cheer! We needed this win tho keep us with Dallas, after they beat the 9ers today. Either way it was a close win for my squad today against our kryptonite in recent seasons! Thanks Hawkz and their fans for a nice game.....
