The only battle rapper that I've seen truly freestyle is Serius Jones. That nigga would merk Fab. Jin freestyles too. The rest of them niggas write their shit.

the better grindtime battle rappers (Illmaculate, iron soloman, thesaurus) just have punchlines that they've came up with and fit them in where they work. which is kinda just how rapping works in general

he may not 'freestyle' but his ability to lay down a large amount of dope bars that arent from recorded songs is extremely good.

i'm sorry i have to shatter ur dreams, but MOST of the content on grindtime battles is pre-written. if u pay attention, most of the battle rappers even speak on it and how they took less time writting than the other. and when they do rap about what the other person is wearing, just like 2-3 lines are freestyled then they switch back to their written material. why you think they get time before they actually battle and not choose the battles on the spot? that's also why they dig up material to use against their opponents
