How do you remake the beats? Are you listening to the song while you try and mimic it or is this all in your head and your remaking it off memory?

i use reason and audacity. i cut parts from the song with audacity and save them as .WAV files and then i use NN-19 sampler and upload the WAV sample thru there. then you can loop the song and adjust the speed/rate. then you basically just start finding similar instruments and just TRACE it. like tracing paper but with sound :dead:
