san fran or mountain view ca....tell me about them!

So my wife just got informed they are closing the office here in colorado and moving her job. She can accept a transfer to New York City, Chicago, San Fran or Mountain view.


So tell me a little about these CA cities, I really dont want to leave denver but she would make more money out there than here, and I am sure I could easily find a job in my field almost anywhere so....

How exspensive are thses cities, housing, gas, good schools???? etc so enlightment!

mountain view is pretty nice and chill

not to much goin on there but it is still pretty close to all the action

the city called the city now thats a different story... i wouldnt really wanna live there because its a little too busy and expensive minmum wage there is like 10 dollars so the price of everthing is alot more also

Mountain view is chill, I'm always around that area. Downtown area is really nice and they got good places to eat. It's also not too far from anything else, San Jose is just right around the corner.

yeah mountain view aint bad.. its in between San Francisco and San Jose.. alot more closer to San Jose, the surrounding areas arent bad either.

go to mountain view...alot less populated yea still close to everything, real close to san jose and just around a 20-25 min drive to san francisco...

Mt View is 90% cool.. there is a lil neighborhood there that aint really a 'hood' but more of a dirty low income welfare section 8 havin', shopping carts all up in the complex leavin, roosters in your apartment complex crowin', police rollin, DUMP. ( 1 bedroom in that area is $1K a month )

The street is called Evandale & I lived there for a year & it sucked ass.
But I had a year long lease.

But other then that Mt. View is a nice, middle to upper calss, mostly Indian & middle eastern engineers n shit. ( nicer areas 1 bedroom apts are about 1350 to 1550 monthly )

Couldnt tell you much about SF, other then the nightlife cause even though I live 30 mins from it, ..it's still just a tourist attraction for me.

My take: Dont move there if you drive a stick shift, cause the streets are retarded.

Also, get GPS cause there are more 1 way's there then anywhere I ever been.

denver jerseys would be moving with me! hahahaha, already have GPS, born and raised on manual transmission i'd be alright.....lol


1350 - 1550 for a 1 bedroom, how about a house or 3 bedroom apt? married 2 kids aint fitting in a 1 or 2 bedrrom apt....lol

SF an apartment can cost you anywhere from 1800 and up, if you wanna live in a somewhat nice place.. a house is a different story, probably 500k and up.

Mountain View probably isnt too cheap either considering its the Sillicon Valley, you've got google and yahoo right there, and other places like Sun Microsystems, McAfee, Facebook etc.

san francisco is about 20 times bigger than mountain view...where in the city would you be moving to? different areas have different prices obviously (even though they're all kinda expensive)

either way, mountain view is a pretty nice and chill city but still really close to everything in the silicon valley so i would probably choose there over the city.

there is people @ Google who will find your place, within your budget, within walking distance to the office.

anything in the west bay is expensive. you looking at mortgage payments. do your research and if your wife doesnt mind commuting of taking bart if working in s.f. there are alot of alternatives in the bay area. do some research. just please leave the jerseys in denver.
