What are you trying to do?

trying to copy pictures from the phone to comp and songs to and from the phone. i was going to try bitpim but need that driver just for it to recognize the phone

Ahhh.. you don't have a memory card and a card reader? That's the easiest and faster way since bitpim is kinda slow. Did you buy the Music Essential Kit or are you trying to use bluetooth?

actually it is a friends and he got the usb cable on ebay and the disc it came w/ doesnt have anything on it other than some pics and midi files

Get that, that's the music manager that will let you transfer music to your phone, I'm not to sure if it's going to let your bitpim work with it though but give it a try. I've got the LG8600 and haven't had a Samsung in ages.

i tried that yesterday and it didnt seem to have anywhere to transfer songs just said add to playlist or somethin

Does dude have a memory card? I'd go with the reader, I've never had that many issues.

Well for music he WILL need the memory card since the phones memory will only hold like three. The cards are dirt cheap right now as well as the memory card reader. Bitpim is cool but it's overrated the only thing I really use it for is to change the flash wallpapers. I use my card reader to transfer music, pix, flix, and full movies. And as far as ringtones I use myxertones.com.
