I think even if you could just jump straight in, which I'm pretty fucking sure you can't, you would fail miserably without proper military training before hand.

I'm not positive but I am pretty sure you need to go through regular Navy basic training first.
I am in the Air Force and if someone signs up to be a paratrooper, security police, combat controller or any other spec. ops they still have to go through regular basic training first.
and I don't know if this is something your interested in doing or just asking but becoming a Navy Seal is tough if you have not been training for a while prior to there training course your not going to make it there drop out rate is 80%

I'm ex-Navy (Nuclear Electrician's Mate) and you would go through boot camp then to specialized school (something to fall back on) then you're off to 6 months of BUDS training. Good Luck! Out of 8 people in my boot camp division that went to BUDS only 2 made it.

you have to have a ba first I really don't know much in depth detail other than if your going to come in the military its better to be a officer.

Closest to SEALS would probably be the British Royal Marine Commandos, I met a few of them out in Virginia and those fools are crazy as fuck. I also heard that the Israeli Special Forces , Isayeret, are pretty damn good.

they are desperately needin S.E.A.L.s right now, my friend is an E.M. in the navy rite now, and he said they are undermanned by at least 900 seals. to many people cant get thru buds, and i dont think they are gonna lower theyre standards any time soon. but they do also get some of the highest pay in the navy
