Aight, I'm moving into a 2 bedroom apt soon w/ 2 baths. My girlfriend and I are going to in the master br w/the private bath, and her friend is in another room, a lil smaller than the master. I have a problem approaching my lady's friend about splitting the rent. The way I see it, it should be splitted according to rooms. Let's say rent is $1,000. I'm thinkin I'll bay $525 w/my lady and her friend pay $475 for her room. $50 differential. Do y'all think this is fair? Or should we split the rent 3 ways? I don't think that's fair because I'm sharing a room. If she were to get a roommate to share her room and split it then that would be cool because that's basically what I'm doing. Good point, but I can't get that idea out of my mind of 3 people and 2 rooms vs. 3 people and 3 rooms yet the split is 3 ways no matter the option...Put yourself in my situation. I'm just thinking rationally, what's best for me, but trying to be fair at the same time. Also look at this situation, a man pays $2000 a month to rent a 2 bedroom home. He rents out a room for $500, would it be irrational? Since there's 2 people living in the house shouldn't the rent be split 2 ways? THis is your method...
Man, I know it's fair to split it 3 ways after getting feedback but 3 ways equally? I'll split it 3/10, 3/10, and 4/10, that's would be fair? 40% vs. 33%. And we'll be paying 3% less than 3 ways and she'll pay just a lil over 1/3. AHHHHHHH fuck I feel fucked up lol. But then I'll or we'll be paying $600 for the master and she'll pay $400 for the room. Naw, assuming utilities paid for, I don't mind splitting the utilities 3 ways tho. I mean I'm getting 1/2 the space in the master br not the full, so what should I have to pay for 1/3 of the rent? Shit, someone needs to slap me to get the rooms/space idea out of my head and get the RENT factor into my brain, I still don't get it....Y'all have to know the situation tho, the relationship factor we have together. They are best friends and my lady doesn't have too much money, I'm breaded but my lady ain't as nearly as much as I IS. So when I'm thinkin' of splitting the rent, I know I'll be paying for her half sometimes too, so I'll be paying 66% rent. My lady and I are together almost all the time, when she cooks she cooks for both of us. We take showers together, we watch TV together we dammit do erythang together but I don't see coming out the pockets that much would be fair because it is like we are one person, we occupy the same space, I don't fuckin' know, I need more persuasion.
Ok ok lemme elaborate on WHY I don't think it's fair I just realized something. My lady and I planned on getting a 1 br apt for $600. I planned on paying for full rent, but hoping she would help out a lil with what she can. So here comes her friend, rent now goes up to $1,000, I'm thinkin okay, we get a roommate then rent goes down. But from what y'all sayin I'm still payin the same, I was hoping we split the rent 1/2 and we pay a lil over 1/2 and she pays a lil under 1/2. But now I'm stilll payin' the same as before except I got another person in the house and gotta worry about privacy issues in shit. I mean if I didn't have my lady with me, I'd still pay $600 for my own apt., having her in my apt. makes no difference on how much I gotta pay. So give me some more feedback.

In a normal situation I would say rent should be by the room. Since you got the master and the final say if shit goes wrong, your name on the lease, her room should be somewhat less that what your will be paying. Man fuck roomates. Both broads are going to be eating your food in a matter of minutes anyway and using all your toilet paper. Man your are going to have to put up with two estrogen harnesses in the same housing unit both with seperate independent dome pieces.

haha I deserve a medal. Finally someone agrees with me, I thought I was losing it there, but I need more. I know Kryptic said it's not her fault we sharing rooms, but we don't really need her.....I DON'T KNOW, if 3 way split is the RIGHT WAY in my situation, then I'm thinkin' about getting a 3 bedroom apartment, one bedroom just to put all my shit in so I'd have piece of mind about the splitting.
